DO NOT BANK HERE! DISHONEST, UNABLE TO USE COMMON SENSE Well, let's go back three weeks ago. I was at home in my living room and all of a sudden an enormous storm hit. By the end of it, our roof was half torn off our house. We were pretty frightened by the storm. Fast forward two weeks and we have an insurance agent come to our house to look at the damage on our house. He made all his calculations and gave us a check for over $6k minus our deductible. So, I head to my local PNC bank to deposit the check. When I arrived, I went to the teller and gave them my check to deposit. I first wanted to cash it but realized I would have to have over the amount of the check to do so, so she told me, quote: "We can't cash the check unless you have over the amount of the check. However, if we deposit the check it will be available tomorrow morning". Well, tomorrow morning comes, and my deposit is not available. (Rule #1 for operating a successful business--Don't make promises you can't keep.) Ok so that happens, then they tell me that the check would be held for another week so they could "verify" the funds. So wait...Are you kidding me? You need to verify that a check from STATE FARM (one of the largest insurance companies in the country) would clear? Use some common sense...I think a check from them will clear. Duh! The storm that hit us was bad enough to cause a state wide state of emergency and caused my wife and I enough stress. We shouldn't have to worry about our bank. Here is something else to think about. Let's say this storm was worse than what it was. Let's say hypothetically a storm as bad as hurricane Katrina comes through. Who is going to have your back? PNC obviously won't.
