They were able to work with me to get the vehicle I wanted at a reasonable price. They went above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied with the transaction.

Was Able To Get The Car That I Wanted With The Rate And Payment I Wanted As Well

As of the fall of 2019, this business is closed. I am referring to the Nissan side. The first five years, I had decent service on a 2012 Rogue I had bought from Frederick Nissan. Then, the service took a nosedive. They would not honor an extended warranty I had purchased at Frederick MD Nissan the day we bought the vehicle. My AC Compressor went out at 51k. This dealership said slow compensation from this warranty company led them to not accept it. I mentioned I had all of my service done here for five years, in addition to buying a brand new $36k 2017 Rogue there, three months earlier. No dice. Took the Rogue to Harry Green in Clarksburg with no issues, and they said they had never had an issue collecting payment from this company. Then, despite this experience, I called to schedule the 2017 in for an oil change/tire rotation. The service advisor confirmed $20 (same as previous trips with the 2012) for the tire rotation. I didn't ask the oil change cost. My wife took the car in, was up charged $69.95 for "Tire Rotation and balance". I returned to the dealership the next day and the advisor said he was new and acknowledged he made a mistake. Advised I needed to talk to Tom, the service manager who was not there. Called him, and he apologized and offered to comp me my next oil change. Fine. Then, the Nissan sign comes down and they are out of business. I call the number, same receptionist. Leave a message on accounting. No response. Dispute charge on credit card. They respond, denying problem. Credit card denies dispute. Call again, leave Ms. Buzzo a message. No response, again. I am keeping an ear out for ownership of the new dealers there (Chrysler Jeep and Subaru) and intend to not do business there if it is the same ownership.

I’ve been getting general maintenance and oil changes on my Subaru at John Howard for over a year since I bought it, and I have to say things have been pretty up and down. Starting out, it wasn’t great, but fair. I won’t talk about how fast service is because I don’t understand what it’s like to be in the garage so I won’t hold long wait times against them. However, what I do hold against them is that they will try to convince you to do something you don’t need to do. I get it, UPSELL, but I’ve been straight up lied to about my air filters needing replaced. Literally watched them tell three other people in waiting room the exact same thing they told me, which surely wasn’t a coincidence. The price of an oil change has bounced between $40 and $70 with no warning. I’ve watched people driving my car slamming on the brakes and almost running into the building and/or other cars, like I can’t see them from the waiting area. The final thing I will say is that the person who comes to ask if you want anything to eat or drink has not been trained whatsoever. It feels so uncomfortable, even though I understand the intent. Not exactly a solid note to end on, but definitely something they need to improve.
In short, I’m probably going to start looking for somewhere else to get my general maintenance done.

Went to buy 2 vehicles one for me and one for my wife and they said they would have me around $800 a month then they run my credit and say they can't give as much for my vehicles and then there's are more than originally told come back with a payment almost $1100 a month really must be crazy I tried to buy a Subaru here a few years ago same deal went to Jenkins in Bridgeport guess will have to go elsewhere again☹

I went there the other day hoping to make a deal on a Subaru, but left there very disappointed. My dad bought a car from there a few years back and he always brags about what a wonderful experience he had, but I did not. He told the salesman the price he was looking to pay (which was $16,000) and he was able to drive out of there in a brand new Forester for the price he wanted to pay. Like I said, this was a few years ago so I guess a lot has changed. Not sure if it's because I'm in my early twenties or what, but they would not work with you on price at all. I was told basically what the price they have on their website was final. Finally admitting defeat, I walked out wasting hours of my time.

My family has bought several cars from John Howard and every experience has been smooth. They treat every one with the same friendliness and professionalism, no matter what your situation.

I just got my car back from the service department. They had my car for 3 days but didn't fix the squealing sound my car was making and that was the main reason for taking it there. They also didn't replace the tire pressure sensor.

Highly recommend going thru JHM when buying or leasing a vehicle! Being a female in a male dominated atmosphere I felt extremely comfortable throughout the complete leasing process.
I also felt the same way while dealing with the service department. Ever since I had a incident when I was younger, I haven’t felt comfortable getting my oil changed, issues fix etc. Although I am older and wiser the staff still didn’t seem to be over powering. All the staff was presentable, kind and the atmosphere was pleasant and clean.
Red Pendergast had all the answers to all my questions and was super helpful! My car was freshly washed and detailed before I drove off of the lot and I was extremely pleased.

Caveat Emptor...
Took our Forrester in for the 30,000 mile factory maintenance schedule. Was shocked when the bill came to well over $700. It turns out that John Howard's list of things to be done at the 30,000 mile maintenance interval is not the same list that is printed in the owner's manual. John Howard includes a bunch of extra stuff on their list. I suppose this is on me for assuming rather than inquiring, but it was not a pleasant experience.
John Howard made an extra $200-$300 on that service appointment, but they lost my future business.

My battery which had recently been fully charged by a trip to DC died mysteriously during an overnight stay. It had served me well throughout the winter at 5 degree temperatures and was showing no signs of weakness before that. I felt like the charge for a new battery was too high as well.

Had an appointment scheduled for an oil change and inspection. I was supposed to have 1 free oil changed left, since I bought my car new from John Howard I was given 4 free oil changes, but they failed to inform me that the free oil changes had expired. After they told us we were finished and we were driving away we noticed the forgot to inspect it. So here we sit again to wait. Hopefully we won't have to wait for an 1 and a half like before. I've purchased 3 new cars from them and I have a feeling that will be enough after this experience. Very disappointed.
