Weird vibes… very small selection, and every bottle is priced about $20 over MSRP, at least. I guess that’s what you get for shopping at a wine store attached to a restaurant, though.

unfortunately not the largest selection, if you are looking for something special you will not find it. A tasting was also not offered.

Passing through Martinsburg, WV on a mini road trip, we found Brix 27 on Yelp. We stopped in for dinner (see separate rave review) and ended up at The Downtown Winedown next door afterwards. Mainly because during our dinner, Mason G stopped in to give us a mini sample of wine (which others described as tasting like bubble gum, but I found to taste like the odor of Boulder incense - if that's a thing). He told us to stop in after dinner and he'd help us choose some bottles to take home. Not to worry that the store had already closed when we wrapped up dinner, because Mason was waiting for us and unlocked the store so we could make some purchases. I learned he's a middle school Science teacher, as well as a wine connoisseur. The wines displayed here correspond to the flights next door at Brix 27 so you're sure to get exactly which flight you liked. Mason helped us find the Spanish Red flight we had enjoyed at dinner. We bought the Rioja Tempranillo, as well as a Volver 2019 Tempranillo and a specialty Malbec/Port which Mason said was delicious. These are quality wines at a cute wine boutique so you're going to pay more here than at a chain liquor store. We plan to save these for the holidays to enjoy with family.

We were at Brix 27, having dinner, and the lovely Downtown Winedown lady offered a tasting at our table. The choice was perfect and we bought a bottle, as soon as our meal was finished! Very nice, knowledgeable staff. Check them out! ?

Loved this place. My family and I went to Brix27 and had a free wine sample from here and it was unique and delicious. I visited after dinner planning to get a few bottles and walked out with a case of wine. Steph was such a wonderful breath of fresh air that provided wine suggestions based on my tastes. I've been to several wineries in northern VA and never had someone as passionate about wine help me through my selection.

Lovely people running a very well stocked wine store. Popped in to buy bottle or two after being next door at Brix 27.

I'm not sure what happened to this business. It's been open over a year. The staff are excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. I travel extensively and know a little about wine, and what is a fair, reasonable price to pay for a good bottle. This store used to operate that way, offering fair prices and value. I used to pay about $23 for a good bottle of Spanish Rioja Reserva at this store just a few months ago (and still do at another local store, for the exact same bottle and vintage). When I went in today they were priced at a staggering $32 (that's about $35 after tax) for that bottle! I thought it was a misprint. I checked other bottles I had purchased a lot of in the last year. The price increase was outrageous, close to 40% across the board. I thought this store was a good addition to downtown Martinsburg, and perhaps others will pay their prices (I won't). I wish them luck.
