I am sorely disappointed by this veterinary practice, which proved again today that it does not care about its patients -- only money. I have been bringing my cats to this vet for nearly 20 years. For the past 10 years, I have had a cat with digestive issues, requiring that he receives prescription food. Recently, I ordered a refill for his food, but Shen. Vet. refused to fill the prescription, saying it has been more than a year since he has been seen. I scheduled an appointment, but when I showed up as scheduled, they claimed he was not on the book until the following week. Having now been without his special food for more than a week, I scheduled another appointment for the next available date (2 weeks from now). Despite the fact that he has been a patient for 10+ years (and on rx food for at least 6 of those years), the vet pharmacist refused to fill the prescription. I made a special call to explain the situation to the pharmacist on staff, and again, the request to fill the food was refused. I will be transferring care for all 4 of my cats. If you want a veterinary practice that cares, you should go somewhere else.

i recently lost my oldest cat, i got two new kittens and they needed a check up. I had been to this location once before this is my second time. I came here with my kitten who is 4 months old. My first visit the receptionists were kind and responsive. Today when i came for my second visit, I walked in and told at the counter. The receptionist, a different girl from the last one I dealt with, processed to ignore me. She finally decided to speak to me and ask what she can help me with. I told her im here with both my cats. She said she only saw an appointment for one. I explained to her the last time I was here I rescheduled for both of my cats and even put information in about my second cat. She then interrupted me and she asked why are they here. I said he's either being neutered today or follow up shots, she interrupts me a second time and says surgery's aren't scheduled for this time so. I said okay then it's shots. They did not specify what exactly my next appointment was for. And then ask what the second cat is here for i said shots and a check up. She then said okay. And nothing else. I asked do I just go sit down now? And she said yea with quite a rude tone. When the vet came out to call me back I had to inform her about my second cat because im assuming the receptionist decided not to put that I brought both. I don't understand why exactly she would not inform the vet when I have spoke to two different receptionist now that I had BOTH my cats. And not just the one. I understand they work at a vets office but there was no need to be as rude to me as she was. I am here with my pets for them to have check ups. She acted as though I was an inconvenience. I've never experienced this at any other vet office before. Im disgusted with her attitude. I hope she decides to be a better person and not treat people with such disrespect. It's not that hard to be kind towards someone. Every other person I've met from me first visit was very kind but it takes one person to turn everything.

We have been coming here for many years, but now they are so busy, it's impossible to get an appointment. When you have an established vet, you expect to be able to see them when your pet isn't well. All you get ie "We don't have any appointments available."

The thing is, and I don't entirely blame them- but they do not want or need any more clients. I was a customer for over 20 years, and the last few times I have called to make an appointment they have said, "we don't really have any availability for the near future." And then they stop talking. I mean... Also, when I asked them to waive a late fee for something THEY forgot to charge me for in the first place, they said no. And that if I didn't pay them, they would send it to a collection agency. I told them I couldn't not come back after that, they said, "Do you think we care? Look at our parking lot."

If I could leave zero stars I would, I use to bring my pets to this vet office my jack Russell started getting sick I took him in they could never find anything wrong with him, well guess what he got worse, so I ended up taking him to another vet in Hagerstown well come to find out he has prostate cancer he passed away in June of 2021, I miss him dearly. Moving on I needed to get a heartworm test done on my other dog I was told after looking at chart I could just bring her in with no appointment, well I get there to only be told I need to have an exam done as well, I said that's not what I was told, asked to speak to manager we don't have a manager in today, and there other excuse was we training new people evidently not, I will never use there vet office ever again, and people say they cheap they are not I have called other vets and gotten prices 20 -30 dollars cheaper than them.

I used to love the care my dogs got here. But it is a different place now. They don’t have any sick appointments for emergencies like ear infections, etc. I’m not waiting a month and letting my dog suffer or having that infection spread and possibly kill him. Definitely looking for a place that cares more about the animals well being.

I've always had a great experience here. Very professional, very clean. They let us take our time to gather our family to let us say goodbye to our 10yr old golden And Provided a blanket for him to lay on. A very nice blanket I might add. If I could make one suggestion it would be that there would be an on-call vet for sick appointments just like a pediatricians office. I have spent hundreds of dollars taking my dog to the emergency vet for hotspots. Thankfully I have learned to take care of them on my own. and yeast of the ears.... those types of things shouldn't have to wait for days in my opinion. I live this vet office just wanted to make that suggestion.

Vets might consider becoming, and acting as if they are even remotely interested in coming to the aid of sick animals. Their calendar appointments are booked, sometimes months away, and the staff loves to drip their sarcastic remarks about not being an emergency hospital. Possibly, if they stop all the unnecessary wellness visits, the absolutely useless yearly shots, and all the other crap, they do to make the big bucks, those aniamals who do need to see a doctor will get an appointment when necessary, not a month down the road. With this lack of service along with the ridiculous cost for emergency care, Veterinary care is a joke.

Dr. Shamblin continues to be a ray of comfort and expertise in dealing with our cats. I can’t speak highly enough of her knowledge and caring. She takes time with you, she listens and she’s intuitive. She and her staff take such good care of our boys.

Very unorganized. My wife made arrangements for me to take our cat for a rabies shot and they told her to bring the cat straight in. The reception gave me a hard time for entering the facility. Seems they are only nice when you are paying for their fees. Recommend finding another VET as we are too!
