Stopped by on a Sunday looking for a place for the night and we were so lucky to have not just a room but a cabin. Quaint and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious. Wine for happy hours. Definitely would stay here again. Friendly hosts. Nice general store. You will not be disappointed.

We cannot wait to return to the Inn at Lost River. The historic farmhouse was so beautifully appointed; the food was fabulous; and the proprietors were ultra gracious, knowledgeable, and helpful. Their attention to detail was noteworthy—from the breakfast strata and coffee to the heavenly happy hour cookies to the information sheet replete with what was happening around town. What an escape from D.C.! Thank you Patrick and Michael for making our week!

The Inn at Lost River far exceeded our expectations last week. Everything about it reflects the impeccable taste and care of its proprietors--from the paint colors of the beautifully appointed rooms, to the sausage strata at breakfast and huge oatmeal chocolate chip cookies at happy hour, to the lavender soaps and lotions. The cafe and general store--only yards away from the charming farmhouse--were surprising bonuses. Michael and Patrick were the perfect hosts--warm, knowledgeable, and available when needed. What a fabulous escape from D.C.! We can't get back soon enough. Love from Sandy and Bob

Gracious hosts with helpful advice for enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Smokehouse cottage and bountiful breakfast of local products and produce surpassed our needs for a short stay. The attention to service and upkeep of the property makes a stay here particularly enjoyable.

The Inn and the room were absolutely gorgeous. The food served at the inn was wonderful and easily good enough to think it came from a particularly fancy restaurant. The local area is just beautiful and an absolute treat if you enjoy the outdoors. The hosts Patrick and Michael were wonderful and extremely accommodating.

This place is one of those hidden jewels that is so nice you almost don't want other people to know about it. The setting is gorgeous, the inn charming, the food delicious, and the hosts delightful. And it is just two hours from D.C. I'll be back, and more than once.

Whatever you call it its a very special place run by caring people. 15 bean soup was especially nice and morning breakfast was first class!!

Charming cottages in West Virginia. It was our first time visiting and the hosts made it a delightful experience. Very accommodating and truly nice people. Greeted us on late arrival with a smile and opened a bottle of wine. Wow! Every day we had a glass of wine at the end of the day with them and learned about the beautiful Inn and the history behind it. We stayed at the Smokehouse cottage. It was clean and decorated really cute. The breakfast was delicious. Can’t say enough about it. Beautiful presentation every morning. The coffee was so good we bought some to take home. During our stay we got the chance to be there for the Grand opening of the General Store with many cute items to take take back home. Thank you Michael and Patrick for a wonderful stay. You guys made us feel like family. We all had a lovely time and will definitely come back.

This was a great stay. Michael and Patric are great hosts. We were greeted Immediately when we arrived, shown our room and invited for wine that evening. We stayed in the spring house cabin. The accommodations were great and very clean. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Everything was awesome!!

The new owners Patrick and Michael were delightful. We enjoyed talking to them and having a welcome drink after arrival. They recommended eating at the Lost River Grill just a half mile down the road. I would also highly recommend eating there. After dinner we came back to the Inn and chatted with Patrick and Michael for a good while, learning their stories. I would highly recommend staying at the Inn and we can't wait for the general store & cafe to open. Our mushroom omelet for breakfast was phenomenal. We can't wait to go again next summer. We stayed in the Smokehouse and loved it.
