I am profoundly disappointed in Charles Black and Zen Mortgage Group. I contacted them back in Spring 2022 to discuss refinance / cash out options from a former employee. Charles contacted me and assured me that "we'll get this done" and that "I won't be left out in the cold". Well unfortunately I was left out in the cold and could not complete the deal after hearing excuses as to why my retirement accounts couldn't be used, then at the end the retirement accounts could be used. I have dissuaded 2 people from using Zen Mortgage Group fortunately.Long story short DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

We were lied to by our agent at Zen Loans. We were supposed to get money back. We didn't. They sold our account to another company and our interest rate went up. The Company that they sold us to is am absolute nightmare. Stay away from Zen Loans at all costs. It might just end up costing you your house.

This was a horrible experience. The closing was cancelled at least 3 times the day before the closing. They wouldn’t return phone calls or reply to emails. It took 6 months for us to close when their buyers were pre approved.

We worked with Brett Berglund. Brett worked with me from start to finish, and it was a lengthy process, but he stuck with us. He provided us with honest customer service and was always available when I called or emailed with questions, which I did daily. We were a bit of a challenge and he went above what was necessary to help us and ensure that we were able to get a loan. He dealt with me and my anxiety and was always kind and professional. He never gave up on us. I highly recommend Brett Berglund as a mortgage broker.

We have now used Zen Loans two different times, first purchase and refinance. The staff there is amazing, Chuck has made the almost impossible possible for us both times. The staff there is always so helpful and on task with everything they do, I have never met a more caring and friendly bunch of people.

Brett Berglund and his team was awesome. Brett worked with me from start to finish, was quick, professional, excellent customer service and was always available when I called or emailed with questions. He got me the lowest fixed rate of all for refinancing. I went to settlement within two weeks from start to finish, absolutely amazing.
