Very nice Conservancy center for hikers and visitors. Lots of info about the Appalachian trail including a small meusum and giftshop. Come ask questions, get your AT Thruhiker picture taken and sign up to be a member here or online!

The gentleman working when we stopped in was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a couple free stickers and explained a lot about the Appalachian Trail. Clean bathroom available for public use was a nice plus.

We walked from here down Washington street with a baby in a stroller. It’s hilly but nice.

Staff was so nice, really glad we stopped in even though we were not hiking. I wish they had magnets, they had stickers and patches but if they had a magnet we definitely would have gotten one. I really liked the topo map display they had of the entire trail. Parking in the back

The ATC in Harpers Ferry is fairly small with only a couple of exhibits. What it does have is friendly staff who are worth the visit alone if you have any interest in the AT or hiking in general. They allow dogs, too!

I am not a through hiker but I came here just because it was here, I meet lots of great people and I got amazing advice for hiking on the Appalachian Trail. They said they one most important thing to bring is a water filter when hiking. Very friendly people.

The trail takes you through the entirety of downtown and has really great views considering the lower altitude. A great hike for someone looking for something less strenuous but still picturesque.

Couldn't have asked for a better day of hiking and yes we made it more interesting by going off Trail and finding our own way back down the huge mountain.

What a cool spot! I am not what you may call an experienced hiker, more like an experienced instagrammer who wanted to take a cool picture on the trail. But talking to the legit hiking people here was awesome! One dude we met was on his way from Georgia from Maine. Boy did he look tired. Anyway the people who work here are very lovely and willing to help offer suggestions and maps. This is a lovely stop over which should not be missed for photo ops or serious hikers alike.
