Very nice Conservancy center for hikers and visitors. Lots of info about the Appalachian trail including a small meusum and giftshop. Come ask questions, get your AT Thruhiker picture taken and sign up to be a member here or online!

The gentleman working when we stopped in was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a couple free stickers and explained a lot about the Appalachian Trail. Clean bathroom available for public use was a nice plus.

We walked from here down Washington street with a baby in a stroller. It’s hilly but nice.
Established in 1925, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) leads the effort to protect, maintain and celebrate the A.T. We are part of a unique cooperative-management system, working with numbers of local, state and federal partners to ensure greater protections for the Trail. Our partners include the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, dozens of state agencies and 31 local Trail-maintaining clubs.
