“I have shopped here for years and I am always impressed!! I have a shirt that is still as soft as the day I bought it from them 4 years ago (impressive if you knew how much I wore it), and a purse I use every day and put everything in that still holds up. Best of all? I know everything they sell is ethically sourced. If you haven’t checked them out, I highly recommend doing so, you will not regret it!”

“We’ve used these folks twice to have custom pieces built for us. They are easy to work with, good communicators, and fairly priced. The craftsmanship is outstanding. We wish we’d found them sooner.”

“What a wonderful experience I had today in Morgantown. I needed some published stories I wrote about West Virginia matted and framed. Found a big matted frame on sale, and other frames marked down. There is a framing station in the back of store staffed by a young man named Weston. He did an excellent job of assisting me with picking out of a matte to go with my frame, showed me how to center and tape it. Also directed me to clearance items. Weston was not only knowledgeable of the framing and mattes- he has a wonderful disposition and proved service with a smile. Go see Weston if you have some framing projects. In a time where good help is hard to find, and people not always knowledgeable about products…my trip today to Hobby Lobby was outstanding. Thanks Weston for a great experience!”

“The hardest part is limiting yourself to a reasonable number of candles. They consistently smell as good when burning at home as they do in store; we’ve been back 3 times so far! The food-based scents are my favorite, especially espresso brownie and the blueberry ones. The gentlemen who run the store are wonderful and friendly.”

“Store is always cramped with items. Not a lot of room to maneuver around with a cart or if you're in a wheelchair. Prices are always great. Name brand items for less than original prices. Sizes are a hit and miss for bigger people.”

“Great little gift shop tucked away on a side street. The building is historic, the goods are decorative, cute and different. And the staff is friendly and welcoming - well worth a trip! And to make it even better, a portion of the proceeds go towards a good cause.”

“Brooke at the Morgantown location was so kind, knowledgeable and not once made us feel pressured. She took the time with us and made sure we purchased exactly what we were looking for. I would recommend her over and over again!!”

“I took the mud painting class in February. Well worth the experience. Had never been to Homestead House before and didn't know what to expect. Very nice shop and really enjoyed the class. I had only experience with milk painting, which turns out well, but takes much longer and you have less control because the milk paint sometimes chips in large areas. The milk paint I used came in a powder, so you had to mix yourself. I much prefer the mud paint. Just a light sanding to prepare wood. The mud paint is thicker, but goes on smoothly and dries much quicker. I did a wood shelf and was able to put on two coats and the final wax in class and still finished early. I had another shelf at home that I did milk paint on, and because of the drying time of paint and liquid wax, the process took 3 days. I will be going to buy mud paint for sure over the milk paint.”
