I am a long time armature machinist, welder, fabricator as well as a serious hobbyist. I also operate a small business who occasionally restores and fixes items for resale.Recently, I have noticed this location and have been stopping by to occasionally source small parts, tooling and stock. With some free time on my hands, today I stopped by to have a look around the store. I was amazed at how many items they had on hand that I use on a regular basis. I was enthusiastically making plans to make several immediate purchases as well as plans for many future purchases, since I reside only a mile away.In addition to their close location, their available, on hand inventory is an extremely valuable asset to me, but unfortunately their employees are are less than warm.Today, a gentleman who I assume is the manager advised me that they do not sell to the public, despite a complete lack of signage and other employees doing business with me over the last few weeks. The manager of this store in which I was the only customer there, advised that they have changed their business model and don't have enough employees to provide service to the public. He then advised me to visit Fastenal's internet site as he showed me to the door.Unless you want to create an account that requires you to spend $500.00 a month, don't go here. They clearly don't want any unnecessary customers whose smaller budgets are a hassle.
