North Bend State Park is a fantastic, lovely, and beautiful year-round park set among rolling hills, lakes, and streams. It is best known for its family atmosphere, the 72-mile North Bend Rail Trail with several tunnels, and abundant wildlife. The park offers a multitude of recreational facilities, including great and well-maintained beautiful hiking trails and a nature trail. It is a great place for kayaking, though caution is advised for wood under the water. Visitors can stay at the River Run Campground, which has great spots, or in cabins. The cabins are described as very clean, well-appointed, spacious, and up-to-date, with amenities including wi-fi, a dishwasher, a gas grill, and a well-stocked kitchen, though some suggest bringing additional cookware. Some cabin accessibility for handicapped guests has been noted as insufficient. The staff at the park and lodge are consistently noted as friendly, helpful, and excellent. The park provides a beautiful, pastoral, and often empty setting for visitors.
A beautiful place to ride your bicycle and get your mind off your problems and relax. And a great restaurant at the North bend Lodge. Today I had a delicious grilled chicken salad.
