We were guests of our family here for the weekend. What a beautiful place! We had a great time and plenty of choices for what to do. Amazing trails to hike, a water park, and mini golf. Very clean bathrooms and showers. I am looking forward to returning and taking in more trails. Beautiful and relaxing! I'm seriously considering buying a lot here.

Camped here a long weekend for the bike bash trail festival several years now. At Beaver Creek Village, there are 30a and 50a full hookups at the campground, all the way down to rustic sites. Tent sites each have 2 large decking pads that will fit a decent size tent. (See photos) There are no linger any cabins for rent in Beaver Creek Village.
Lots of amenities, and if you are a mountain biker, there are tons of great trails!
Lots of critters (secure your trash), and the whitetail deer are on the more tame-ish side. They'll be much closer to humans than you'd normally see. Early morning or evening, you'll see them feeding along the main road.
The campground is dog friendly!
The campground is a but far from amenities, so you'll need to drive or use a golf cart.
There is pretty easy access to the water for kayaks or a canoe. The lake is maybe a half mile end to end, but plenty big enough to paddle about and fish.
We go for the bike bash MTB festival. Great food from Owls Nest, lots of vendors, and good bands playing in the evening.
The only con is the bathhouse. While functional, best bring your own TP and hand soap!
There's a lot of permanent campsites and deeded properties within Big Bear. A buddy has a place there. Some of them are really sweet setups! You can spend a few hours just wheeling around all of the camps roads, it's a pretty big place once you go exploring.
I am looking forward to returning next year.
Nearby activities: On the grounds, there are MILES of mountain bike trails, a lot of climbing and technical riding, but there is a beginners loop of trails near the general store.
There's also a water park for around $14 a head for adults, mini golf, basketball/tennis courts, horseshoe pits, a lake, swimming beach, and a general store with an icecream window. Also a food stamd with shrimp. As expected, stuff is expensive if you forget anything from batteries to ziplock bags.
Walkability: The campground isn't close to any of the activities. You'll need to bike, drive, or use a golf cart. Rentals are available for about $100/day.
Noteworthy details: Great mountain biking! If you're up top of the trails, the section of raceloop through the Pines is a must!
The place is dog friendly. As long as your dog is under your control and not trying to eat anyone, they are welcome.
Also, note that if you have AT&T cellphones, good luck. Up top, they'll work. Intermittently, around the grounds, they'll work. At the campground? I wish you the best to get a signal. We had a couple of bars and service on Wednesday and Thursday, but once the place filled up for the weekend, connection attempts kept timing out. It's not bad if you want to unplug, but if you're keeping in touch with family or others in your group, it can be aggravating. I heard others with different providers had better luck.

Big Beark Lake Camplands is a large campground with privately owned camp sites in northern WVa along with some rental sites in an area known as Beaver Creek. There is a store, golf cart rentals, a water park, and three lakes. I highly recommend this location because of the can I help you attitude, everyone demonstrates.

Stayed a night passing thru West Virginia. This was a huge campground area with many permanent spots. Everyone we met was friendly. Camp area we were in was woodys and quiet had bathroom and showers close by. There is a golf cart rental on site to rent for your stay or day to get around. Was perfect way to get around to see all the different areas. Camp store was well stocked with everything.
