I go there because that's the company my wife and her son are covered under. I would recommend Whitehall Pharmacy all day long over this place. their employees are not so friendly. I go to a drug store. I want a friendly face, not grizzled sour faces and no pleasantries in their voice.

My 53 year-old, paraplegic, brother is a current ICU patient at UHC - Bridgeport, WV. Along with his ambulatory disability he also has a tracheostomy (on a ventilator) and a urostomy. He has been in nearly innumerable facilities in his 53 years. He was recently admitted to UHC, with sepsis (BP 60/30 and lower), pneumonia and renal failure, (with likely more issues), as all other local (within three hours drive) facilities SUPPOSEDLY had no vacancies. His care to date has been almost incomparable..... EVERYONE we have encountered at UHC has been seemed incredibly proficient, considerate.... eager to work as a team, to listen, to evaluate and help........ a surreal experience in healthcare....... awesome workforce in a beautiful modern facility. No doubt this is an atypical review as my brother is still a patient and isn't "out of the woods".......... however, he and his family have experienced UHC enough to have faith in their efforts. Thanks UHC!

I love this hospital because they show in so many ways they care about the patients. Facing surgery on Thursday so okay I am short tempered. Yesterday did pre op testing. Everything was in one place and they call it quick test. Noval approach to patients time and surgery fears. The kindest people bending over backwards to get patients in and out in record time. My husband was at UHC twice last year and he raved about how great a hospital it is and he's a tough sell on anything medical. I asked Hubby do I need to have change for vending machines and he tells me no all you gotta do is ask for something and staff will bring it to you. I am an old broad whose seen the inside of allot of hospitals and UHC is the clear winner.

Beyond LIVID, my Husband was vomiting blood after being discharged less than 3 weeks ago from Mon General. I checked him into the Emergency Department and told the Nurse I would be back as I had to find myself coverage at my job. My Husband is a COMBAT VETERAN that is 100% PTSD and it is in his chart as he has been there many times for treatment. Before I could get back to get him the Emergency Department Doctor working deemed it was ok to Discharge him with the Diagnosis "Unexplained Abdominal Pain." This is after giving him 3 doses of Fentynol and numerous other medications. Your hospital and discharge Nurse allowed my Husband to leave that hospital without walking him out to make sure he had someone to be discharged too or even to make sure he wasn't driving after 3 doses of Narcotics and numerous other medications were given. By the Grace of God my Husband managed to walk down the road and across 5 lanes of traffic to Sheetz without being injured before I found him. Neglagence at its best! I called back to speak with the Charge Nurse over the Emergency Department and she assured me it was just a mishap on the Nurse's part because it was shift change. A MISHAP THAT COULD HAVE COST ME MY HUSBAND'S LIFE !!!!

Due to a nurses negligence my mom lost her life in this hospital in September 2021. In 2013 she was misdiagnosed in the ER with “gallstones”. She had stage 3B ovarian cancer. I will never recommend this hospital to anyone!

This is about a specific doctor, but I can't find a way to just rate him. Dr. Ciarolla with the gastroenterology department made my quality of life a nightmare for a couple years. I was told in 2007 I had gastroparisis but wasn't really treated. I went to Dr. Ciarolla in 2016 for help, as I was becoming very physically ill. He told me GP is an old people disease & I couldn't have it. At one point he put me on fiber supplements. After almost 4 years of being given the run-around, I went to Cleveland Clinic & was diagnosed with gastroparisis! Fiber is a big no-no for GP & makes my condition worse! It's found most in young adult women & diabetics, not "old people". I was sick 10+ times a week & almost hospitalized at one point. All because he ignored my symptoms & refused to diagnose me.

Very disappointed with there wait times. Especially when you have an appointment at 1pm and you still have yet to be called back for your appointment. It’s ridiculous

I was very disappointed with their ER. My 80 year old brother in law was taken there by ambulance as he was experiencing confusion. He called the rescue squad himself as he knew he was confused. They discharged him late at night from the ER without a way to get home and still confused. It was cold and raining. He walked over 9 miles to get home. He lost his wallet with all of his important cards somewhere during this ordeal. He did drive back to the hospital the next day, but did not get any help from anyone there. I am a nurse myself and worked at Ruby for 27 years. I hope that we would have treated a patient better than that. He should have been admitted at least overnight to get to the bottom of the confusion.

You can make sure employees don't hang up on customers. I was hung up on by two different people on the same day. One was the information operator. Poor way of doing business. All I was trying to do is find out why I was charged $400.00 for blood work that the hospital charges $50.00 for at a health fair. Why is there a $350.00 difference for the identical blood testing?
