I was needing to schedule a repair and order some parts for my tractor. I left an original message and then left another message a couple of days later. I finally received a return call over week after my second message. I spoke with a guy named Pat He asked how he could help. I thanked Pat for returning my call, but since I had left a couple of messages previously and had no response until now. I was left with no choice but to call another local John Deere dealer. Pat his reply in a very rude tone of voice said. If you took the tractor to James River. Do not call here any longer.
Operating a small business equipment downtime means losing money. Good customer service is always important to retain business and word of mouth is a way to gain or lose business. I will be sure to spread the word around about my experience with Pat and Meade Tractor. FYI the one star rating is being very generous in my opinion.

The new manager Patrick Straley has a very bad attitude. The equipment is all overpriced and so is prices for repairs. Husqvarna and Cub Cadet are much better with longer service warranties.

The Meade family took over from the **** family several years ago. Service has been worthless since the acquisition. They cant seem to keep service writers, technicians or even drivers. They will come to pick up your equipment but can not give you a date it will be ready or even call you on progress of service. I have had to find local mechanics to the maintenance on my 500 and 700 series mowers. In August of 2022, I purchased a JD Gator 865R with only 500 hours from a local farmer and sent it to Meade for a tune up and inspection. After 18 days and me constantly calling it was finally returned with the inspection sheet. One of the inspections was of the battery. There was 2 inches of dirt on the terminals when returned. Even though it was running fine, after the inspection it began over heating within riding only one mile. I have had it back to their shop 3 times for the same issue and it still is over heating. Three weeks ago, I called and ask for the district manager of service to look at issue and call. No one has called yet. I have paid almost $3000 to have it fixed with no results. I am calling the ***** ***** ********* to schedule an appointment.

I'm old school, None of the equipment has pricing marked on equipment. I know, nowadays is available online. But who wants a sales agent right with them asking them about pricing on various machines. Like I said, old school. However, the sales agent was very patient with me.
