Hawks Nest Lodge is a beautiful and well-maintained state park property. It offers hotel rooms, a wonderful on-site restaurant, a gift shop, and meeting areas. The grounds feature great walking and hiking trails both up top and riverside, along with a playground, basketball court, and tennis court. A new tram system to the riverside adventure station is coming soon. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with some offering gorge-ous canyon views from a private balcony. Guests note the rooms are on the smaller size, especially the bathroom area. The hotel is quiet and peaceful, perfect for watching hawks and enjoying the fresh air. Parking is large enough for any size rig or RV. A big plus is the on-site restaurant, which serves dinner and adult beverages, as there are no other meal options close by. A free breakfast buffet is included. The employees are consistently described as super nice, helpful, friendly, and attentive. The property is a fabulous place to stay, providing a welcoming and adventurous getaway while supporting the state parks.
Beautiful place! Everything was clean. The employees were all super nice and helpful. The breakfast was really good. And the view were the best part! Only part i didn't like was our room didn't have a mini fridge.

Beautiful spot to visit although signage is lacking once inside to get access to the park. We came to visit right after Hurricane Helene had hit and all the water was so muddy and turbulent still.

A fabulous place to stay. FREE breakfast. A wonderful restaurant on site. Great walking trails all around. Support the state parks!
