After living in all quadrants of our country I moved to Clearwood and have lived happily here for 35 years. You couldn't pay me enough to move somewhere else. I've had wonderful neighbors, and I like that all the lake front is communally owned. Lots are small, but there are many large swaths of greenbelt that gives a feeling of seclusion.

I was looking to purchase property/home in this community which looks like a great place with good homes and lots. After dealing with the management a few times I found that they were very curt. Not approachable at all, definitely turned me off to the area.
I received an HOA fee/fine price structure; I don't think I have ever seen as many fines and fees listed from an HOA/Management as this one has for their community. Example a 6k dollar fee paid to the association just to purchase an empty lot seems awfully high.

Excellent place to purchase a home if you can afford it. Excellent place to raise kids and a family and live a great life.

Everyone has struggles especially in today's economy. We live in this community and own a home. When we were in the process of buying our home the HOA fee was 80$ with that not seemingly to bad we went forward. Once we moved in that fee per month had doubled. It is my understanding that no matter what the people vote the fee continues to rise. It has gotten to the point where it's out of control. Many can't afford it and management of this does not care. If you can't afford it and plead with them they force you to pay the entire amount in days time and if you can't they threaten to shut off your key access and to turn your water off. They expect you to pay over 2000$ in less than 30 days and if you don't they threaten you with more fees and even selling your home. It's a nightmare to live here and they do not care. All they want is their money as they rip you off and they have the power to do so. It's harassment at its best and corrupt and its wrong and I will fight for everyone's rights in this. This must be stopped. It's disgusting what they do to people do not buy a home here it will be regretted.

I live here for the beauty of nature that surrounds us and I will never leave. I have lived in this area for over 30 years, but the Clearwood Office staff and their preferential treatment of some, and their outright lack of usefulness for others is maddening. They declined to open the gate for a delivery, but they do this everyday for others. Why is the community the enemy when the office exists to serve us?

This HOA put out a vote on whether or not to raise HOA fees, they admitted that they didn't get even half the residents votes in, and the ones that did get entered were mostly entered as no's (admitted by a letter sent out by the HOA) and they still pushed through with the raising of HOA fees.. I feel like that's when you do a recount. What's the point in taking a vote when you're just going to ignore it? Just check out the other negative reviews, I know I should have before.

It's ok here, this place has a HOA and I'd never buy a house in a development that has one you're not gonna tell me what I can and can't do with the property I'm buying and they are super retarded strick here at clearwood but they also have their own maintenance team to help you with repairs and upkeep of the community which is something unheard of for housing Developments

The nature is amazing so is the seclusion, but the people who run the HOA are a joke.

the hoa is terrible here. ive been fined crazy amounts in the thousands that i was totally unaware of, when i did find out they were unlwilling to even discuss the matter with me because of there 10 policy to reply. these were in the thousands all from the karen that has moved in next to me. they shut my water off for a 65 dollar bill and said i had to pay them 6,000. to have it turned back on. who can afford that. ive even got kids living in my house. so now im forced to hire a attorney because they are also trying to forclose on my house. the manager here needs to wake uo and get real. she is very rude and unwilling to work with me. so now im forced to fight back. wish me luck

I have been living here for 5 years. HOA went from $795.00 a year to 2000.00 dollars a year. Mostly everyone voted no to the change but they needed a minimum of 400 votes for the new bill to pass. And now we have to register to get passes for our pool? We have to put pictures of our kids for the pass? No thank you. The HOA is going to ruin this community. And they are the ones making all the mistakes. Like embezzlement that happened a couple of years ago. Stuck in this hell paradise
