I was waiting for a package for about 2 weeks. I received a notification that delivery failed so I called the post office. They told me that it hasn't arrived yet (this was 11/14/2023 when I talked to them). Later, the tracking number was updated and it said that the item had arrived on 11/13/2023 (so it was there), and that it was disposed of because they couldn't deliver it. There was nothing perishable in the package, I had tried to contact the right individuals, yet they disposed of something that was shipped overseas weeks prior.. what a waste.

Mediocre company waits the last day to deliver a package! If you're lucky and they don't mark it as late!

I used to ship all of my paintings through here. Never had an issue. Went in one day to ship one as I had done many times. Was yelled at by the man behind the counter. He would not explain why I could not ship package. Even when repeatedly asked. He finally did and said some crap about their machines can't read the label in the order it was in. Made me step out of line. I fixed it went to the other gentleman. Who said nothing. And allowed his coworker to yell at a customer and be beyond rude for no reason. I no longer take my business to the post office.

This review is based on my recent visit this past Thurs, December 01, 2022.[PO Box]Lots of boxes available as you enter the bldg. Also as you enter the building the large self drop off box is there for you to drop of pre-paid packages, and it slides into the back for security. Please note the building is closed after hours so you won't be able to access your Boxes.[Front Desk]The Front desk will usually cycle 2 Team members at opposite ends of the front counter. This is great for privacy and security as you discuss your needs to the Team members. The line is standard like most USPS, where it hooks around with a middle table divider for you to place your package or fill in last minute labels.[Supplies]Most standard supplies like Priority & Express boxes/envelopes and cert/insured labels are available for you to pickup, fill in, and use. Those specialty items can be requested once you get to the front and the Team Members have always been able to help out.[Team Members]The FRIENDLIEST and most professional, and nicest group you'll ever meet in Yakima! So far, I've noticed there's 3 main front members who cycles 2 in at a time. All 3 are amazingly supportive and compassionate for your needs.[Services]The members are more then qualified for serving your needs. Priority Mailing. Ebay mailing. Insured mailing. Letters to Santa. All your needs can be found here.[Parking]The front has staggered parking to help out. Since it is a smaller location, street parking is currently Free along 3rd street. I personally would recommend the street parking, walk an extra 10 feet to the front door because when you leave it is quicker to get onto either Yakima Ave or Walnut St.[Note1]This is NOT a passport location.[Note2]Those customer reviews about missing package needs to double check as the package pickup/delivery is usually located on the main location on Washington St and not this one, on 3rd St.[Office Hours]The Office Hours noted here (Google Review is accurate), but Yelp is incorrect.Mon-Fri = 08:30 to 05:00PM PST.[Final Thoughts]Please apply the "Golden Rule" that we were all taught when we were little. The Team Members do a stressful job and everyone do feel "entitled" because we all believe our packages are the most important in the world. Treat the staff respectfully, and you'll be amazed at how quickly and efficiently things can be completed for you.

Yet again another package ditched on service. Claims business was closed. I tested them today at my place of employment. 6:15 says office is closed. I’m still on front lawn debating on how to approach this tomorrow. I don’t know what it is about Yakima but usps fedex and ups are a joke.Must not have employees who want to work. Will be filing a complaint due to this especially since I changed delivery addresses from my home toOffice for this exact reason. BAD. BAD. BAD. A 5 year old on a bike could do aBetter job.

Just gotta' be the most incompetent post offices in the system. I live in a "compound" where there are several mail boxes housed within a larger, outdoor unit. Today, when I went to retrieve my mail, the mail carrier had placed a package in my box that I was unable to retrieve on my side of the unit - the opening where the carrier inserts the mail is just a bit larger than the opening where one removes their mail. Bottom line: I cannot get my package out of my mailbox..!!! And here's the kicker... These larger units housing several mail boxes have two larger compartments on the bottom where modest size parcels can be left. Both of those units had the keys in them - meaning they were available to receive a package, if needed. Attempted to call the Yakima PO, no one would answer the phone... Finally fined a complaint with someone at the USPS, but they told me that it might be days before I can retrieve the package. Gives incompetence a whole new meaning.......!

Mail carriers keep cutting through my yard which leads to my dogs coming out to greet them barking. This does not happen when they do not cut through my yard. Now they will not deliver my mail if they hear the dogs barking even when the dogs are put away. Good enough for government work I guess

I don’t understand all the negative reviews, put yourself in the shoes of a worker at what appears to be severely understaffed post office. I ship packages at least once a week, usually more like 1-3 times a week and I can tell they are doing their best with what resources they are given and always have a great attitude even though I’ve witnessed first hand how they can be treated by inpatient or overly dramatic people.Don’t pay attention to all the haters, keep doing what your doing! I know I’m not the only one that feels this way. Thanks!

Worst post office in the United States! I have been forced to go here for years and not once have i had an experence that wasn't absolutely horrible. The clerks truly enjoy ruining your day. I don't know if it's disgruntlment or a power trip but I suggest avoiding this location at all costs, unfortunately Yakimas other location isn't great either.
