My uncle called, in regards to a Ford ranger that couldn't be fixed at another shop in woodland. They said they'd take care of it. They came and took the truck from the property, down to the shop free of charge. Proceeded to say that it just had a vaccum leak and that It would be ready at the end of the week. They proceeded to dodge calls and messages, and even ignore knocks when he came into check up on the truck. When he finally got ahold of them the owner said it may need a new motor, and that they couldn't get it running as before it was when it was brought to the shop. Uncle asked what we were gonna do. He said he would get back to him. 2 weeks later he gets a letter from kalama impound saying his truck is stuck there unless he pays 900$ to get it out. Despite NO call to say to come get it. And despite numerous calls to see what the deal was, this buisness had my uncles truck towed without his knowledge trying to dismiss the entire visit. No calls no messages nothing. Down river automotive is a burned bridge amongst my family. I hope nobody else goes to get ripped off by this local "reputable" business. Stay safe fellow woodlanndites, choose reids auto.

I can't say enough good things about this small shop with a big heart. I am one of the recently displaced residents of the Portland downtown arson so I thought that I would think outside of the box on a place to call home while the investigation and my insurance took their time to come up with some answers. So I was given an extremely great deal on an on an older RV. Yes it is a 1980 and while in great shape on the inside and out it is dated. So when the water pump on the engine went out I didn't think it would be a big deal to get it fixed, I mean the engine only has 50k, but boy was I in for a surprise. I broke down in Woodland WA and called every shop within a 40 mile radius and was given quick dismissals or no response at all. Simply stating that they did not work on RV,s that old under any circumstances. From what I have learned it's because most of them are not well taken care of, which was not the case with mine. I'll be sure to include some photos later. With nobody to take RV to my tow truck driver said that he knew a place that did some specialized work on some more difficult situations. So without even being able to speak to someone first he drops my RV, at night mind you, in the front of Down River Auto and I just left a message on their machine and crossed my fingers. Now not only have they been hard at work on my RV they have been working with me to keep the cost down because of fire situation. I have not been asked to leave this review and to be honest I am not sure if they even need more business. However I feel it's important to let people know how wonderful they have been. This shop is amazing. As a former family run auto shop manager I couldn't have been more happy. I had my little Rav into 3 places trying to figure out what was going on with it and Jake was able to diagnose the issue in less than 5 minutes. I was in a week later and today my car is solid on the road again. Karen is the sweetest and even offered to let me use their car if I had anything I needed to do. Work was done very well, comes with a solid warranty and the pricing was unbeatable! Shout out to Blue, the shop dog, too! Such a good girl :)

They checked over a car I was going to purchase and gave me so much of their dedicated time! Really friendly and honest. I'd continue to drive from Portland for this kind of service! Really easy scheduling too. You can't go wrong at this shop!

I won't be back to Down River Auto. I'm not going to go into a long story of how they sold me a car that wasn't what was promised, instead I will just say if you're looking for a place to do your brakes or an oil change then I believe you will be safe. However if you are looking for more work down that requires true diagnostics from a real mechanic with real cadential's and diagnostic equipment I would look somewhere else!!
