Did one of your employees harass the disabled man with his dogs?
If that is true, thats shameful and also against the law.

I have shopped at a lot of Value Village stores but am wondering why this one in particular is turning away service animals. They are aware that’s a federal law, right?

You need to fire that employee that kicked James Oneal out of the store because he has a service dog.

An employee kicking out a service dog and his owner is unacceptable. Even after the guy showed his card showing his service animal and explained everything... You need to train your staff better.

Kicks out a disabled person with service dogs. As a disabled person with a service animal this is against the law and disheartening. They should’ve been trained on the law. Do better.

It is so awful that your management would bully someone who has service dogs out of your establishment. Shame on the manager and all those that are complicit. If your management needs training on how to treat people with decency maybe you should thoroughly review your hiring process and hire people who contribute to our community with kindness and understanding.

Shame on Value Village for treating a loyal customer and his service dogs like garbage. James and the dogs (Sprinkle & Otis) didn't deserve the unfair treatment they received from a Value Village employee. Do better and train your employees on how to treat your customers.

I think Value Village needs to train their employees on what a service dog is. I wasn’t happy to see a segment on Q13 where one of your employees mistreated a gentleman with two service dogs for his migraines.
It's not anyone’s business what the service dogs do, and under HIPAA, no one has to disclose that! This man could have pursued legal action for violating the Americans with Disabilities Act, but instead, he just wanted your employee to be educated.
When the news reached out to you, you couldn’t even bother to respond. That doesn’t exactly make you seem like a business that cares about the community.
Your employee came across as a bully, picking on someone who’s already had a rough life. This poor man can only see out of one eye, is disfigured, and needs his service dogs to detect when he’s going to have a migraine.
I can’t imagine what it’s like to barely get by and find joy in looking for Seahawks gear at Value Village, only to have one of your employees make him feel like a freak and unwanted. If your goal was to make people feel unwelcome and drive them away from your store, congratulations, you succeeded.

Horrible they discriminate people with disabilities, I would give them a zero if that was an option.
