I have 5 kids and we've gone through a LOT of daycares over multiple states in the last 16 years.Hands down, the Shyne School is one of my absolute favorites. My son loves all of his teachers so much (current and former). Everyone here is so nice and caring. The food menu is always changing and has great, healthy options. You can very much tell from the office, to the teachers, the aides and even the chef... They love their jobs, love the kids and enjoy what they do.A gem in the community! My only regret is that I found them with my last child, so we only have another year or two before he leaves.

I have had my two children attend Shyne School since they were one year old, and I can confidently say that the school has been an amazing experience for the children. What I like about the school is that they focus a lot on social interaction, do hands on projects like sending letters around the world, or understanding how mail gets delivered (which ultimately ends with a field trip to the post office), taking a trip to understand how salmon spawn, and much more.

We love the Shyne School! The teachers are caring and work hard to cultivate a fun learning environment. The school has fantastic outdoor spaces, and Ms. Prudence makes the best food!

Another amazing year at the Shyne School is flying past. Our eldest child graduated last year and our middle child is in the midst of learning about reptiles, the ocean and receiving letters from around the world. This school is home to the most amazing bunch of well educated, hard working, caring, helpful, accommodating, wonderful women I know. They embrace early education in a fun-filled, dynamic way and I appreciate their wholehearted approach to caring for all of our children who are fortunate to attend this school. Baby #3 will definitely be enrolling when the time comes to take the leap into preschool. Thank you Katrina, Prudence and all of the teaching staff for everything you do, your hard work do not go unnoticed. On a side note: I can't believe that Yelp is hiding 17 positive reviews of the Shyne School from parents whose children loved attending and only shows 3 reviews, one very negative one from 2008. I find this shameful and expect that my update will probably be relegated to the same area too. I sure wish Yelp would fix their 'random' review as it really doesn't feel very random when so many reviews are regarded this way.

When we lived in the area both our children had a wonderful time at the Shyne School. Great staff with low turnover.

Both of my children did their entire preschool experience at shyne. They both loved it, with the wonderful environment, kind loving teachers, and focus on socialization. We as patterns also felt like an important part of the experience, and have continued tires with the school even though both our kids are now in grade school.

My two little girls go to the Shyne School and I would have to say that it is the best preschool/daycare in Redmond or Woodinville. We toured several other schools and found that the Shyne School had the best atmosphere and would give our kids the head start they needed.

This is the only Preschool on the Eastside I trust that provides quality care for 1 yr olds while giving my children a leg up academically.

I'm glad I didn't let the 2010 review here keep me from checking out The Shyne School. It sounded too much like a person having a bad day and taking it out on the place so I looked into it anyway.... It has worked out great for us! First of all, I wanted a preschool that did not feel like an impersonal, 'institutional' daycare and instead felt like a 'home away from home' for my 3-year-old. I also wanted a school that understood that parents need LOTS of flexibility in their schedule. And I was seeking a school whose director was warm, communicative, hands-on, and professional. Lastly, I wanted seasoned early-childhood teachers who were not just focused on imparting kindergarten readiness skills but also had the personal warmth that would encourage a love of learning in my child. I think The Shyne School meets all my criteria wonderfully. The school is made up of a group of buildings that look like cheery yellow houses and a red barn, and there is a spacious 'magic forest' in the back that provides a wonderful, natural place for the children to play in. They have remodeled very recently and everything looks new, clean, bright, and spacious. They have a wonderful service which is that the children who stay through lunch get freshly prepared hot lunches everyday made by the lovely and gentle Ms. Prudence in the school's kitchen. The 3-year-olds are always making fun things like fresh-churned butter or home-baked apple pie with Ms. Katy and Ms. Darci. They are very disciplined about handwashing and Katrina, the school director, runs the whole school like a well-oiled machine. She is warm, friendly, always available, highly organized and totally on top of health and child safety issues. Health alerts go out quickly, with full information for concerned parents and even better, the parents are very conscientious about monitoring their children's health and informing the school of anything that would be of concern to others. Last but not least, I am thrilled that ALL the teachers in this school are great. My child has only been exposed to warm, kind, and attentive teachers and assistants - regardless of which schedule he is on. There is a great camaraderie among the school's personnel and they have a wonderful rapport with the parents. Unlike other places I checked out, they never minded my staying longer at drop-offs to help my child get adjusted. This took several months and I was never made to feel uncomfortable about it! As a result, he is completely adjusted and happy in his new environment and comes home to tell us everyday about his new learnings and his friends at school.

My twins are now in first grade and still talk about the wonderful teachers and staff at the Shyne School. The balance between academics and fun outdoor play is perfect. Their Kindergarten teacher said she loved getting kids from the Shyne School because they were always so prepared socially and academically. Besides, they helped me potty train my kids! What could be better than that??

I have a less than impressive opinion about this organization. The director is very difficult to communicate with and she makes excuses for issues that happen at school. When tried to talk to the owner, I never received a response. We ended up finding a better school for our daughter.
