My family has always taken our pets to Cottage Lake Vet and I now have 2 cats of my own so I am getting to experience their great care for myself. It was a simple yearly check-up for my cat and we got to see Dr. Zastrow. She was LOVELY! So friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. Another great experience here and I trust them with my fur babies.

We breed dogs and have been going to Cottage Lake Veterinary Hospital for years for not only our dogs but our cats as well. They are always polite and helpful with questions and really care about us and our animals. They have always helped us make informed decisions for the treatment and health of our pets. In addition to being a great place to bring our pets, it's also important to us that they are locally owned and the owner cares about the wellbeing of the employees. The veterinary field is hard on those working in it and we like that we know we are helping make it better for those putting in the work.

How do you describe a good veterinarian? When I picture in my mind the ideal veterinarian, I see Dr. Miller at Cottage Lake Vet. He is smart and knowledgeable, yet down-to-earth and humble. He is kind and compassionate, yet seems to be tough and able to handle any crisis. He is patient in explaining things he must grow weary from frequently answering and he allows me to ask questions without rushing me. He answers my questions in a clear, succinct manner that never, ever has a tone of condescension. He is always respectful. He also seems to be a hard and conscientious worker, often returning my call regarding my geriatric dog way past business hours. It seems to me that his job must be incredibly stressful at times with dogs in crisis, demanding humans, and interpersonal conflict amongst the staff, yet he remains calm and collected at all times. Who does this? I rarely see these stellar qualities in medical offices. I've been taking my dogs to CLV for 21 years now and never thought I would find vets as good as the previous owners (The Quindts), but Dr. Miller is right up there with them, yet he has more of a business mind then they did because he had the good sense to recently hire a consultant to help address and correct the front desk issues that in previous years have cast a distinctly negative tone over the office. I don't often take the time to write reviews but felt that I must let others know about Dr. Miller. You will be hard-pressed to find a better vet.

I have been a customer at Cottage Lake for the last 12 years, I have a nervous nelly and having a vet that was patient and kind outweighed the scheduling difficulties and the fact they are quite expensive. Since the Quindt's retired the churn in staff is noticeable. The Drs I would like to see are no longer there. No Dr Veal, Lubbeck, Zuber or Edgers. Maybe this is telling in itself. Today was the straw that broke the camels back. I tried to schedule an appointment as my dog has a suspected UTI. The response was we are scheduled too far out and their only recommendation was to take her to the emergency vet. I asked if it was possible to prescribe antibiotics to help her today...the answer was "No, we need to see her for that". Great...so, helpful. So, for all of you wanting a vet that cares about the discomfort your pet might be experiencing...this is not the case here. I say this because Cottage Lake have done this before. We've had to seek alternative care elsewhere previously, but because of the staff and the relationship they had with my dog I returned back to the practice. This is no longer the case. It is very apparent that the relationship is transactional their end and not a personal one. I am sure they'd be able to find room for the $2500 teeth cleaning, but when my dog really needs them...oh sorry, we can't help you. Very disappointed in Cottage Lake Veterinary.

I took in my daughter's dog, an ancient member of our family. Baylee was scared. So the vet and tech got down on the floor to help Baylee-- since the counter was scary for Baylee. Kind and thorough help. I highly recommend Cottage Village!

Saved my cat. We have been customers for over 20 years with dogs and cats. Dr Quindt is the best.

SO RESPONSIVE! I have been coming here for 32 years with our dogs and cats. I loved the previous owners and were so blown away with my first experience with the new owners. I am busy, busy, busy so I NEVER write reviews. In fact, I had to log into YELP for the first time to write this review.... I have 2 pure bred cats that both were struggling with serious respiratory problems. They heard my urgency and saw my cats. I brought my 30 year old daughter with me. She too was astonished with the, dare I call it, "bedside manner" of Dr. Miller! He gave us such focused attention and explained the felines' condition that has been reappearing over the years in such a detailed manner. He handled the "patients" really well. We learned a lot from him. He gave us a lot of his time and we actually had 3 staff members in the room handling the situation. It was good to see Todd from the previous practice there too. He has always been a calming faithful voice. When my daughter and I were alone in the exam room, I mentioned to her how much I liked Dr. Miller and she said she was already thinking how great he was! So this message is actually coming from the both of us.

Was told one price over the phone and charged another. ...more ..with apologies. If you still go there make, sure you ask ( as its happening) if its extra and what the price is BEFORE they do any work ....Get your pet medications from Costco.Watch your $$$UPDATE 9/6 /23 :I requested a refill for the prescription they had just given me for my dog's , Bailey's ear issues:1) they never indicated (when they gave me the prescription) how many drops were to go in each ear ear...I had to call to find out.2) the bottle they gave me had an insufficient quantity to complete the administration, I ran out in 5 days3) the Off MGR( ? ) said I was administering it incorrectly..which I wasn'tFINALLY Cottage Lake Veterinary Hospital would not refill my prescription because of my on line bad ( originally submitted Review, above) and, would no longer service Bailey citing a "lack of trust in their ( Cottage Lake ) care" and their office management. By the way .. at first didn't have a record of my request ...but finally found it ... Duhhh.I leave it to the readers to decide whether to use Cottage Lake Vet ..I WON'T

All of the staff at CL are wonderful. I'm never rushed, and they are very thoughtful and thorough. They will often follow up after visits to make sure all is going well. I've also been able to get an appointment on short notice if needed. I highly recommend!

I recently took my Corgi in deeply stressed because she was sick. Cottage Lake Vet took us in right away if I left her there. The vets themselves always answer the phone calls and questions I had. I love this vet. The cost is a little more.

We saw Dr. Zuber at Cottage Lake VH when our puppy incurred a cut that needed stitches. They were able to get us in same-day, what a relief! When your pet is hurt and suffering, you will do anything to help them. Dr. Zuber is young, and in our mind that's a bonus! She is smart, educated, and kind. Dr. Zuber did a great job stitching up our little pup, and make her feel safe. Sent us home with meds, instructions, and a smile. Highly recommend, and we decided to make Cottage Lake our new veterinary hospital!

I have loved the doctors and assistants interaction. Always caring, and taking their time to help.I had a poor experience with the front desk staff a few times, occasionally they are showing lack of patience and a poor attitude.- I was in office, taking my pup's weight. My pup was not cooperating to stay still on the scale. I got quite an attitude for insisting that her weight is higher, and for failed attempts to convince my pup sit on the scale.- Recently my dog was attacked by another dog. I went in vet office, got an antibiotic for her. About 14 days later, I noticed a bag of fluid getting big under her skin. Called the office, explained the situation and I was told: "We do not have any appointment for dog fights for the next 2 weeks, you should go to ER". The tone of voice was not friendly. And needless to say I was worried for my pup. 2 days later I went to a different vet office: my pup had an abscess and a seroma and she is under treatment since then.I do not feel comfortable going to a vet hospital where the front desk staff is not considerate with my pup's health, not even to take a message for the doctors to assess if the pup should be seen or not.

I have been coming here with aging cats for a few years now. I think the fact they have AAHA accreditation is important. They communicate well, making sure we are both on the same page regarding the level of care and response to whatever the situation is. I also really appreciate that the clinic that's less than a mile from my house is so great!

We've been bringing our beloved dog here for many years. We have seen several of the Veterinarians, and worked with most of the staff. Appointments are really easy to schedule online or by calling. The staff is very friendly and professional. I was impressed at how efficient and quick the appointment was for our dog's annual exam. They were able to sample a lipoma on site, give vaccines, conduct blood work - and we got the results within 24 hours! I also appreciated that the payment was collected in the exam room. This made me feel less anxious as our dog gets very excited when he is around other pets, so took a stressor off of me and him. They also took their time in listening to concerns I had and making sure they checked everything off. They are the best!

Several very good doctors who will treat your pets with love and care. The rest of the staff is great, too.
