I drive over forty miles to get my hair worked on by Vicky Downtain. She is amazing. My hair color is not the easiest to match and she gets all the natural tones perfect. When it's time to cut my hair, she makes sure the length is exactly how I want it. She is also the one that waxes my face. Besides her wonderful talent, she is also incredibly funny. I honestly always leave feeling better. She is also incredibly organized making sure I have an appointment and sends me text reminders.

Initially I wasn't going to leave a review because they ended up refunding me my money and were very nice, but I am just very upset and feel that others should be aware. Now I have to spend so much money fixing my hair for something that wouldn't have cost as much. It's been about 2 months now and I've done my hair 2 more times yet the color still is not right. I went on Feb 10th. I went in asked to dye my hair blonde. I'm getting married in October and my hair had different colors in it (brown, red, and blonde) so I knew it would've been a process. I went in on Jan 30th for a consultation. They did some test strips on my hair and my hair did dye blonde how I wanted it. I was excited, the girl doing my hair was excited and I booked a date. She didn't do the red part because she said she knew it would come out when she bleached it. She told me it would be over $400. Fine it's a nice place in Upland and they have good reviews so it'll probably be worth it. Well, she ruined my hair. She added brown dye to my hair that still after 2 sessions is hard to remove. My hair looks better now thanks to a different salon, but you can see where it's darker brown blonde and blonde. I added my inspo pic from Pinterest and the hair she left me with. I asked for solid blonde and my roots only showing brown (shadow root) and she said she understood but gave me very thin highlights and left my hair with 2 lines dividing the brown she dyed, the middle that is a lighter brown, and the bottom that was a brassy blonde. I also had brown spots in the brassy brown parts of my hair. I understand my hair was different colors but she had informed me that it would take 1 session and then a touch up session closer to October. I believe she was new and did not inform me. I originally wanted to book with Christina (the owner) as a colleague that went to school with her recommended her, but Christina recommended me to Baylie stating she wasn't taking new clients. I give 3 stars instead of 1 because all the other clients walking out had beautiful hair. Also, Christina and Baylie were both very very nice. But unfortunately their niceness will not help pay for my hair to be fixed. They should not be recommending clients to new workers and if a worker cannot do a hair style they should speak up rather than having the client pay way more money to fix their mistake. It's not about testing on people's hair when working in a salon. Anyway sorry for the long review

Great place to get pampered and Vicky is the best! I've been going to her for years and now started having hair days with mom. She had a bad experience at a salon years ago so was unsure about trying it again. I convinced her to go and she loved it! Looks forward to going every time. Guys, my mom looks so beautiful every time! Vicky, thank you for making bonding time with mom so special.

Cannot say enough about this location! The Desert Rose is a gem in this city and I'm so happy with the service I've gotten here over the years. I came in not expecting to get a last minute appointment and Vicky helped your girl out! Great service and fit me in last minute. Listened to what I wanted and really took the time to understand my needs. I will definitely be returning and am loving my color and cut, as always! Thank you Desert Rose and Vicky!

Always welcoming, good energy all around, and my hair dresser Esmeralda is the best - she's managed my hair's color and cut perfectly. She's also very knowledgeable on all product recommendations.

Thank you Stephanie for making shaggy haircut dreams come true I'm glad l took her professional advice because what l thought l wanted was actually going to be too short for me. She talked me into a slightly longer length and it is wayyy more flattering for my hair's natural texture. Great call. Thanks again, l love it!

Just not that impressed with my cut and style. I was charged $65 for a cut and style with Stephanie. If I wanted to look like I left Fantastic Sam's I would have gotten into my Delorean and traveled back in time for the $10 cut I felt I got from her. Needless to say I did not return. The salon is nice and very inviting. There are actually a lot if hairdressers there and maybe I just lost the lottery pool with her. Other clients I noticed walking out and getting their hair done looked fabulous. If you don't mind looking like a "small wonder" flashback give her a try. Meanwhile I'm back to the future at a salon on Day Creek and Base Line and I couldn't be happier with Elena.

Esmeralda has a gentle and sweet demeanor, but she is fierce in that chair, I was scared to try someone new, due to me moving cities, but she has completely gone over my Expectations. LOVE HER WORK!

I've been coming here for maybe about the past 2 years and this place is really something. I love how clean the salon is, and how friendly all the hairdressers are. I have yet to try out their other services such as spa or nails but, I have been going to Kirsten for my hair services for a very long time. I would recommend her to anybody. All my family members go to her as well and have said nothing but great things! Prices will vary depending on what service you want done, so you would have to communicate to see what the total cost will come out to. If you want you're hair done and are anxious about someone getting it wrong I suggest you give Kirsten a try because she's amazing and passionate about what she does!

I can not say too many wonderful things about Heather Tate! She worked on my eyeliner yesterday and WOW! Very pleased. She was professional, honest, and sweet. Looking forward to coming back and having her do micro blading on my eyebrows.

I asked and paid for a balayage but received regular highlights. Angelica was nice, however my hair color/style is not balayage. I also paid $45 for toner which was left on my hair for maybe 10 seconds at most. The highlights are not blended and different shades of brown and blonde sadly. Would not recommend - sorry.
