We were there for a family event / road trip from the Midwest. We try to stay in independent hotels / motels if possible. The room and staff were excellent and was run by a family. There is a small picnic area to dine or enjoy a beverage of your choice. You are about five minutes from grocery / drug stores. If in the area will stay, there again.

Heads up! This is a small, family run motel that is just fantastic. It isn’t fancy or over dressed, it is home. The rooms are clean, queen bed size, a few are pet friendly. Beds are comfortable, the water hot and lots of it. There are picnic tables in the garden, a wonderful gazebo where you can bbq. We so enjoyed it and plan to return. Thank you for such a nice vacation.

We needed to stay someplace close to the airport for one night. This little place was perfect! Bed was comfortable too. The owner was friendly, and we enjoyed our conversation. The room was sufficient, and we had all that we needed. Since we had a little bit of time to relax the garden was the exact spot for that. Beautifully manicured and the temperatures were perfect. We highly recommend this place.

Great little gem in Walla Walla! The bed was comfy, the room was clean and charming, and the staff were lovely. They have a delightful little garden with an unobstructed mountain view. Excellent value! Will stay again.

An old-fashioned motel, understated. Everything was perfectly clean. The laminate in the bathroom was brand new. Toilet and sink brand new. Bed was very comfortable with thick cotton sheets. Very simple but a great place to spend the night. We stayed in a dog friendly room. Can’t beat this for less than $100 a night!

These folks have taken an old (1948) building and done the best they can with it and it shows. Rooms are fresh and clean, the bedding and mattress are great, towels above par and they even provide a water GLASS not a plastic disposable cup. Decorations are modern versions of period advertisements. Overall excellent value. Without hesitation we would stay again.

I really, really hate to write a bad review and my intention is not to harm a small business, but rather to flag the unexpected experience we had and hopefully keep someone else from experiencing the same.I booked the Garden Motel for one night while we were in Walla Walla because the reviews were good and the photos appeared to show a quaint, budget-friendly, but "updated" motel. We've recently started staying at small, privately owned motels from time to time because there is a growing trend of updating these into unique places to stay with a fun sense of community -- thanks to Schitts Creek fame, maybe? Side note: If you're in Pendleton, check out the Pendleton Motolodge. This is a GREAT example of a retro-vibe motel glow up in a great location. The Walla Walla Garden Motel was NOT that. Our room looked NOTHING like the photos posted here -- the tiled bathroom, the white bedding, the sleeping nook -- none of it. It's like they updated one room and posted pictures of it. Long story short, we took one look at the room, turned around and walked out. We had to scramble to find a last minute place to stay that night, and thankfully did. There was no way we were going to stay in that room. We still paid for the room and simply drove back to return the key the next day.The neighborhood is sketchy. The garden area in front of the hotel is quite lovely and well maintained, but it was the only thing that was remotely appealing. On the way to our room we noticed that there was an elderly person literally LIVING in the room next door. Their door was open for air and the room was fully outfitted and lived in. I was torn between feeling devastated for this person and horrified. Upon entering the room, we noticed a horrible musty smell and the room looked and felt dirty. Everything about it -- the furniture, carpet, bathroom, bedding, etc. was old and outdated. I have never arrived at a hotel/motel and refused to stay there. This was a first. I strongly encourage the owners of the Garden Motel to take a hard look at making some moderate investments to this 17-room motel. With some love and attention, and somewhat higher standards, this could be a very special property.

We were so glad we stayed here! The owner was super nice and informative. The room was awesome! We loved being able to park right in front of our room. The room was large and we had an unexpected bonus kitchenette! When we find ourselves in the area again we will definitely stay here again.

Good value. Humble and hospitable. It’s like staying at your grandma’s house with furnishings from another era. Rooms are small but clean.

We had a nice comfortable stay here. Old style motel but in very good shape with clean, well maintained rooms. The grounds are nice and there's nothing better than backing right up to your door and having only a few steps to unload your luggage. We enjoyed our stay.

Sweet little old style (but updated) motor court motel. Small rooms (we didn't expect more) but just fine. Very clean, good bed, really all you need if you're not 'vacationing' in your motel.Added addition of a very nice garden in the front with lovely landscaping, places to sit (even a BBQ area) and a sweet dog.Really a nice place, just don't expect a palatial room.Rooms: Our room was small but very clean, good bed and functional.Noteworthy details: Again, lovely garden in front with seating and very nice landscaping. Much more appreciated than a swimming pool!

Rooms are cleaner here than hotels I've payed quintuple to stay at. Really appreciated that, thank you for the attention to detail.Just a heads up, Google Maps Navigation is really very wrong with driving directions. If you're driving here, disregard anything about Link Street and enter directly off of E Isaacs Ave

Stayed here while on a week long bicycle tour. Great location and Customer service! Even had a bike room. Highly recommend this "Mom & Pop" type motel! The owner was great and very accommodating for our large group. If ever back in the area, would definitely stay here again!

I travel solo since my wife died 3 years ago, but I insist on a clean room, comfortable bed, hot shower and morning coffee. I am not looking for luxury, but well-maintained and cared for motels often meet those standards at a fraction of most other hotels. I attended my grand daughter's commencement at Whitman College and it is not a walkable distance, but only 5 minutes from the campus by car. I was surprised and pleased with the friendly gentleman at the reception desk. This motel is family owned, and it shows in those details important to me, so I would recommend this motel to anyone.
