After receiving oversized parcels (OP) delivered to my house on a regular, consistent basis for the past 35 years, Anne Myrick, supervisor at the Vashon Post Office, contacted me and stated she was denying my OP deliveries to my house based on 3 separate measurements she took that my house was outside the USPS 1/2 mile distance criteria for OP delivery. I filed a complaint with our Consumer Affairs Office (CAO) as my 4 measurements were all inside the 1/2 mile criteria. Our CAO did their own measurement that was within 1/2 mile stating that Anne’s measurements and determinations were inaccurate and incorrect. Anne also stated there was a safety issue with my USPS Grumman delivery vehicle not having a backup camera when the Vashon PO has only used these Grumman vehicles for all deliveries on Vashon for the past 30-37 years, and official USPS written data cites that there are currently over 141,000 Grumman vehicles in use daily nationwide serving over 46 million rural USPS customers for the past 30-37 years. Our CAO authorized a safety review of my access road based on Anne’s safety info. stating my road had “recognized safety concerns” without identifying or informing me of any single safety issue that existed on my access road even after our local postmaster, Ashley Lee, informed our CAO directly that she was not aware of any safety concerns that existed on my road with no damage being done to my USPS vehicle. The USPS safety specialist did not come out to my property to physically inspect any part of my entire access road for his safety review and based on a video supplied to him by our CAO stated there were “low hanging branches” in it, and cited multiple physical descriptions of my road that were unknown to him based on the fact that he did not physically inspect any part of my access road that he used to make his safety conclusions. My road has no “low hanging branches”. His conclusions stated my delivery vehicle’s mirrors would be damaged driving to and from my house in both directions each time it drove to my house to deliver OP and parcel delivery to my house is unattainable due to overgrowth on my road when I have received all such OP delivered to my house regularly for the past 35 years without any damage ever being reported to my USPS vehicle’s mirrors. Ashley was aware of my past consistent OP delivery history which she authorized to be continued with no damage being done to my vehicle’s mirrors involving our conversations together discussing all these issues. Ashley received emails directly from the safety specialist before the safety review was issued with his inaccurate vehicle mirror damage info. and other inaccurate info. but never replied to him to correct any of this inaccurate info. At this time, I also received 3 OP delivered to my house with no mirror damage reported to me from Ashley. I sent Ashley this OP info. and requested an explanation from her why I didn’t receive mirror damage reports from her and how these 3 OP deliveries occurred when the safety conclusions stated they could not occur, but received no response from Ashley. I emailed Ashley several times and requested a direct talk with her in person to discuss these multiple safety review contradictions and that these safety conclusions were inaccurate and incorrect based on documentation I emailed to her and that she was also aware of based on her personal knowledge of all these issues, but she never replied to have such a meeting. After I sent my emails to Ashley, the Vashon PO stopped my OP deliveries to the entrance of my private driveway that Ashley had implemented 6 months previously in compliance with the safety review and USPS OP rural delivery polices but instead has resumed deliveries of my OP being placed on the ground next to my mailbox resulting in an additional OP of mine being stolen and has returned my OP to the post office, and Ashley has not responded to requests to resolve the theft refund or to restore & comply with USPS’s rural OP delivery policies to my driveway entrance she put in place 6 months ago as postmaster.

17 people in line yesterday, 14 the day before. I've been trying to pick up 5 packages since before Christmas. Like most people I don't have 2 hours to stand in line. The entire island is in an uproar.
It's not our local employees; it's the postal service not supplying needed staffing. Most days there are there are 2 workers up front, but even they disappear for breaks, lunch or just going in the back to hunt for packages, leaving one overworked employee to serve a line of people that fills the tiny lobby and then winds itself around and thru the road of post office boxes.
The mail carriers who deliver mail to homes are out delivering mail until after 9 pm.
This is negatively impacting 10,000 people. Something with the USPS has gone horribly wrong.

The gentleman clerk at the front counter is so courteous and kind and has always been so helpful whenever I go. It's such a privilege in the modern day to send and receive anything we could ever wish for straight to our house. It seems like this post office is always overworked and understaffed; give them some patience, they're doing their best! My packages always arrive at their destination a day before the estimate, and all of my questions are always answered. Thanks post office!

Vashon Post Office still has lags in delivery. Plus now they have taken to delivering packages in plastic bags set by your locked mailbox without regard to the mail thief going on in Vashon. How much tax dollars are they spending on plastic bags and not getting the packages to the doorstep as they are suppose to do. Vashon Post Office is a real problem that needs tobe solved with new management

I believe some of the issues at the Vashon post office are due to being short staffed. Which is understandable and forgivable. Some of the staff are friendly, seem competent, and are doing their best. Some are unhelpful, unfriendly, and downright rude.Perhaps the most frustrating thing is the lack of consistency and information. Hours listed on official USPS website (9-5 M-F 11-2 Sat) differ from the actual hours of operation 10-5 M-F 11-2 Sat.The first time I had a package I waited in line for half an hour to collect it and was told, “next time knock on the the door in the lobby". So the next few times I do that. The person at the door is always helpful and pleasant and gets the packages. Today I knock to collect a package I’d received a notice for a week earlier, but they had not been able to find on two prior visits, and I’m rudely told to join the counter line. Maybe due to staffing some days you can have a package pickup line and other days you cannot. If that’s the case put up a sign so people know. Or at least be polite to your customers. So 4 stars for most of you and zero for the "lady” today making an average of two. Those of you who are working hard and doing your best really are appreciated.

The post office can not seem to keep employees and delivering the mail. Our last delivery was a week ago! As employees usually quit mangers not jobs, someone needs to overhaul the inadequate and incompetent management and get our mail delivered. This is ridiculous.
