I've been coming to this store for years now, and I've generally had a good experience here. I like the product selection at the store, the prices are fine, products are usually in stock, but if there's one thing that is a consistently negative part of the experience, it's the whole checkout process. There are very few cashiers, and there's only ever one person working the self-checkout. I mainly use the self-checkout, and I find myself waiting minutes at a time for assistance nearly every single time I check out, there is almost always several customers who need assistance at any given time, and sometimes the sole employee working the self checkout spends several minutes just helping one customer with no backup. There is now regularly a line to the self checkout and all other check stands, and while standing in line recently an employee informed me that your store has a new policy which doesn't allow more than four self checkouts to be open with only one employee. I don't know what this policy was designed to accomplish, it doesn't really matter if I'm waiting in a line or at a self checkout, and it felt like this poor woman was left with this as her only excuse. I know that manpower is expensive, but this has been getting progressively worse, especially over the last several months. I don't know what's going on, but this store has many great qualities and it's truly a shame that this one issue is seriously making me consider shopping somewhere else. I would like to continue shopping here, and I'm writing this review in the hopes that this can bring some attention to whatever the issues are with the checkout stands at your store. If I can consistently checkout my groceries in a timely manner, I will continue shopping here, I don't think that's too much to ask.

I was loyal to Freddy's for the past 7 years, partly due to their location as they were just down the street. Slowly, surely and steadily I felt that their quality was slipping. After too many nightmares with their Boost club deliveries, I called it quits and headed to Safeway- also right down the street. Higher quality, better selection, fewer hassles. I'm sold.

I drive past the huge mega stores to shop here. I like shopping in the smaller “hometown”-feeling store.
The brighter feeling after the recent update is a positive reward after the remodel mess. I buy fresh fruit and vegetables at this store a couple times each week. The upgraded produce section is a big, big improvement.
Special props to Shannon in the produce department. She is outstanding. She is always taking care to point out the best deals and best products for me to consider. She seems to be a very decent person who is also is very good at her job.
If you can’t find what you want in the recently upgraded produce section…. Just look for Shannon. She knows where the freshest kale salad is!!! Problem solved!!

Self check out closed just make things worse. Theres long lanes. Not enough personal for check out. Please put more people to work or put those self checkout open. People dont have the same time and patience thank you

The store is clean and the staff are helpful. It's in a strip mall with several shopping options and generally not "too" busy except the usual holidays. I usually find what I'm looking for inside.

Husband bought wrong medicine for me and lost the receipt but he paid with debit card and used Safeway reward number. They refused to take it back. Wish I could give them 0 stars
