Tonight my wife bought some groceries at the Safeway on 112th. When the groceries were ringing up, my wife realized that the watermelon she grabbed (no price displayed) rang up at $24(!!!!). My wife told the checker she didn't want it and to take it off. After she had paid for everything, she grabbed all her groceries and was leaving (leaving the watermelon). The checker then said, "don't you want your watermelon? You paid for it." She then told my wife that she had discounted the watermelon to a paltry $21 (!!!!). My wife said she had told her to take it off and the checker said, "too late...I've already rung it up." My wife was in shock and left the store without making a scene. So...I went to the store to fix this. I did get a refund but this store, with it's checker Jenna is terrible. We spend a goodly amount every month but we won't be buying it at Safeway. Winco, Freddy's, Albertsons all have a shot at our groceries now, because Safeway customer service SUCKS.

I wanted to give a shout out to the bakery department at this Safeway! We usually spring for Nothing Bundt Cakes for birthday parties, but given the cost of everything decided to go a less expensive route. The cakes were beautifully decorated, the bakery staff were so friendly and knowledgeable, and the cakes were absolutely delicious!! This Safeway's bakery single handedly has me thinking differently about grocery store cake!

Safeway runs a special on Fridays where certain items are "red tagged" at a lower price just for that day. They advertise those deals in the weekly mailer and often have some pretty good deals. My recent experience at this store was discovering I was charged full price for a red tagged item and getting a sketchy answer to the question 'so is everyone buying this item getting overcharged?' when I returned for a refund. I like the produce, seafood, and flowers at Safeway but the 'oh well' attitude toward systematic overcharging has me looking elsewhere for those items.

Went to this business to get cheese and beer with my girlfriend. She doesn't drink nor is she 21 (didnt think this was a problem) but I am and do and I wanted some beer. The lady at the register demanded her id "per state law" (not a law) at which time I asked for the manager and he told her it wasn't a law. She still refused service even for the nonalcoholic item and stated "I've been here 46 years". For 46 years she seems to have no respect of authority, no knowledge of the laws and obviously needs a reality check. Should definitely be fired for yelling at people who were confused as to why she was demanding and hostile. -5 stars for this Safeway and the manager who let her yell at customers. If she was my daughter would she have been demanded ID? This business treating me like a criminal and a nuisance just for simply wanting to buy beer isn't right. I'm 21 and not allowed to use my privilege as I should be because this company is power hungry.

If I could give you a zero stars I would. Saturday 27 2021 I had the worst customer service in my life. I went to the self checkout with my finance and I was ringing up all of my items when "your employee " red hair shorter was a total j*** and was super bitchy asked for my I'd so I can get my mikes around 10:00 pm I showed her my ID and of course I'm over 21 and then she asked my fiancé for her ID and that's when I stepped in saying you have no right to ID anyone and everyone. It's just the person buying it she grabbed my alcohol and said " well I'm not selling it to you so your not getting it" I feel targeted because I think she saw my security badge and since she doesn't like cops and security officers she didn't want to sell to me even tho I'm in my rights. The law is you have to be 21 years or older to buy alcohol plain and simple. And I am 21+ the law also states that it's for the person buying it. Not to target or harass your customers. It's sad because now my finance is scared to even shop at our local Safeway because of this incident. I'd like to see this addressed immediately or I'll go all the way up to corporate and file a harassment claim and a discrimination claim.

Most disgusting and dirty kitchen I have ever worked in!!! Mold growing in the cooler too. Pans and sheet trays are never washed. I had green mold came off on my hands when I touch them. The racks they store the bread pans in are dirty and rusty. It rubs off on the dough and they sell it to you!! Cakes are not baked there. They come frozen in a box. So do the cookies. The frosting is all shelf stabilized and full of chemical. The red frosting is so nasty is stains the floor and won't come up even with floor cleaner. The garlic spread they use to make garlic bread is old French bread and doesn't need refrigeration either. Muffins are cooked on dirty pans too. Go to a small private bakery. They will bake from scratch using good ingredients and take pride in their business unlike Safeway. Everyone laughs about the junk they sell to customers.

You know, I like a couple of the people who work here. But when I ask for specific details on a cake and they tell me "we can do that" and then it looks like I'm the one that decorated it. I'm not one to write a review and be a "Karen" but wtf is this trash? It's messy, for some reason there's sprinkles on it. It's cars theme. I asked for a lightning bolt and a 95 on it and got this glob of a mess... super disappointed and will no longer be getting cakes from this one, or suggesting friends to go there ever again. This is really disappointing honestly. The only excuse I was given was "sorry man. The decorator must not have read my notes correctly."

They keep it clean, well organized and have only once bought an item only to find out its past its expiration. The customer service on the other hand is rock bottom. They're just generally rude. Currently, we're dealing with covid and I think that puts people on edge. But they've always been this way. Good location for everyday day necessities and worth it, regarding price. Its just a huge downer sometimes depending on who you're dealing with.

I was in the store earlier today and there were quite a lot of customers not wearing masks and no one seemed to care. I was thinking more about it after I got home and decided to call customer service. When someone answered the phone I asked "are you all following and enforcing the mask policy?". The response I got was "No, we have signs up but we were told specifically by management to not enforce the policy." This is very alarming and shows that they value profit over the health and safety of their customers. I will never be stepping foot in this store again, even once COVID is over.

This is for the pharmacy. I've had both shingles shots there, and was treated expertly and courteously by Le. I'm very grateful.
