I was hired at this print shop for strictly 2 weeks. I was given little to no training, I had 2-3 days of actual training from their designer who was leaving the same week I was hired, which is just very strange. I have never been hired at a place where my trainer was only there for 3 days to train me. Which makes me succeeding in the position I was hired for extremely difficult, and it felt like I was being set up to fail. The owners did not communicate with me at all with any of their of concerns they had with the way I was working. I was not given the courtesy to learn from mistakes and was let go very abruptly, and was not given a reason as to why I was being let go other than “not being the right fit” which is very vague and code word for they just didn’t like my personality or me as a person. I tried my hardest to be exactly what they needed but I was given no leeway at all. I hope whoever is hired next at this print shop is weary of the management at this print shop. My entire situation was just super sketchy. They ended up really messing up things for me in my personal life and of course they don’t think about how decisions they made while I was working there could personally affect me, cause I am also human not just a disposable employee. I also had to deal with overhearing John bad mouth me in his office that’s was right near the desk I worked at ,I do not recommend employment at this print shop at all. Very unprofessional and poor management and sketchy owners.

As a growing small business owner and as someone who has worked with dozens of printers over the last 2 decades, I am often in need of a go-to local printing partner. I haven't found anyone locally yet.Today was a rough day, in a rough week, during a rough season of change. I called 5 printers for a small, annoying last minute job. On my last call, I was referred to Jon and his team at Copy Express. Kindness, responsiveness, and community-building are life-giving for entrepreneurs. They are also a big part of outstanding service.Lot's of people can push print, layout stuff, and manage big print jobs. But Partnerships and connection happen when you find real humans in small moments who choose to take care of each other. That's what Jon did today. Business cards are awesome. But business networks with good people keep us going.
