The school cannot figure a way to end its constant traffic jam when students are dropped off or picked up. I have been stuck in this mess for 20-30 minutes enough times to be very frustrated. I have sent my child to this school for most of her elementary years and would rate the school higher without this constant annoying problem. The school district should try harder to solve the problem.

Drop off and pick up is a mad house at this school. There is no parking and people are so annoyed and angry all the time.

Great School. The Vancouver School District has housed the Mandarin Chinese immersion program here and about 2/3 of the student body make up that program. Because of immersion program, parents from all over the school district drive their students here, making for very busy drop-off and pick-up times at a school located deep in a neighborhood. In addition to the usual primary school activities, the teachers, administration, and parents support the students in the immersion program with a variety of events centered around Chinese culture. By the end of 5th grade, the immersion students will basically be fluent in speaking Mandarin. I do not know how the non-immersion students fare here and it would be a reasonable question to ask if you plan to send your child here. I do know that each grade contains three classes, two of which are Mandarin and one of which is English, meaning the kids and families in the non-Mandarin classes would stay together throughout their experience here. Good or bad? Probably both.

My son goes to this school. He had a rough start. However, the school's administration and educators did everything within their power to help him adjust and participate. The administration have been accommodating to our family needs, worked with our busy schedules and respected our time. We never felt forced or coerced into doing anything. The excellent staff and leadership make this school a pillar of our community.
