I love this pet store. I have been taking my Belgian Malinois in for treats since he was a little baby. The staff are so understanding that he’s in training mode! Today I even noticed that they were all avoiding making eye contact because they could tell he was having a reactive kind of day. It made shopping so much easier that everyone was respectful of his space and needs.

A great store with a wide variety of pet food options and more. I love the free sample pet food they give out with your purchase! That was how I discovered my cat's favorite treats. The place is always clean and organized, plus the people there are typically kind and knowledgeable.

I like shopping here sometimes. It's a little expensive but sometimes worth it for raw food. I just don't like being followed around the store everywhere I go. It's really starting to make me want to shop online or something....if I say I don't want help please leave me alone. I don't need 5 different people coming up to me within 2 minutes of walking in. I've been in retail sales my entire life. Please communicate with eathother who has greeted who....everywhere I go I get treated as if I'm about to freaking steal. I get tacoma has a theft issue but please don't treat everyone that way. I get I wear a beanie but not everyone wearing black and a beanie is trying to steal from you. Chill out.....either that or it's a toxic sales environment where everyone is fighting for a customer.....seems like a tacoma issue though. In sales you are taught to follow the person around while pretending to do something while watching them and asking "do you need anything"...its common when they think someone is about to steal. Seems to be the theme when I wear a black beanie...either way annoying....guess I'm not the other one because there's another review saying the same exact thing. If you are so worried then go watch your freaking cameras. i am sick of being followed around everywhere I shop when im spending hundreds of dollars at these places.... SERIOUSLY IRRITATING.

I’m dog, cat, and house sitting nearby. I don’t live in the Tacoma area, so I’m unfamiliar with the University Place neighborhood. The beautiful and fun to care for Rottweiler that I’m sitting has been a very good girl, so I wanted to jazz up her kibble meals with some wet food. Regardless of the location, Mud Bay is ALWAYS trustworthy, so I searched for the nearest store and UP popped up. Only problem, they close at 7:30pm and it’s already 7:15. Waze GPS showed that I’d arrive two minutes before closing. So I loaded the said good girl in my car and disembarked post haste. I refuse to be the last one in the store, holding staff up from their closing duties, so I called ahead. Alex answered my call, and she was friendly, empathetic, and incredibly helpful overall. I pulled up about 90 seconds to close. Walking in, I was greeted by the three people in the store, presumably all friendly employees. Alex had two cans of wild salmon dog food ready to go in a bag, along with a treat of course. The entire staff was awesome, and made the purchase that I rushed easy. Great store, wonderful people, remarkable company. Thank you!

The people at Mud Bay know their products and are always more than willing to guide you in making informed decisions about your pet's needs. Not to mention that they have excellent products to choose from.
