Mike Albers is the best independent auto mechanic I've ever dealt with. Whenever I can't repair it myself he's my go to guy. I've recommended him to many other folks including my kids. He's honest and thorough and doesn't charge as much for his service as his competitors, from what I've observed. He hires good mechanics also and his brother Frank runs the office and he's a great guy as well. I've never posted a review on Albers Auto Repair even though I've known about them for at least 30 years. I guess it's about time and I feel guilty about that now.

They do a great job and stand by their work. Mike seems very knowledgeable and will explain everything to you, and I feel I can easily trust their recommendations. They always take good care of me.

Mike and Frank are just the best. Honest, willing to go above and beyond to do the best job. It's refreshing to find such high standards. Took in my son's car on short notice and repaired what several other repair shops couldn't.

Was told to have my Kia towed in to be looked at. On the morning it was towed in I was turned away because my car "likely needs a new engine" and they weren't able to keep my car in their lot. Wasted money on a tow for no reason on the shops suggestion. Complete bs.

My husband takes all of cars there (we have 5) Frank & his team are absolutely amazing. They always take really good care of us. Whenever there’s an emergency he always gets us in & is honest, trustworthy & affordable! I have always been sketched out about mechanics because you always hear horrible things but not them. We were referred to Frank by a client & so happy we have found a place we can take our fleet of cars too. Can’t say enough good things about them!

Albers Auto was great. Had an issue with my 94 Bronco and I don't live in Tacoma. Was able to have it towed to the shop and they repaired it same day. Great shop. I thought I was looking at an expensive repair, however, they far exceeded my personal cost estimate and repaired it for much less. Quality work and affordable. Albers Auto is the type of auto repair shop I wish I had where I live.

My Dad had a business relationship with Albers before he died. They were on his short list of shops in Washington I could trust. As a result, when I had big jobs to do that I could not get to, I engaged with Albers Auto. I spent around $3,000 with two vehicles and referred another customer to get work done there as well. As part of this work, they asked me for $456 to put in a starter that shop rate is $260 for. Scheduled a drop-off for a month out, at their request. Took two weeks longer to get to my job than they told me, with me calling them daily to check in. They padded their bill provided additional services when I specifically told them not to do anything other than what I said to do- no phone calls to ask or anything. I had the same problem with my starter when they were done with the repair. I explained the problem. They said "come down, we'll take care of you." They then made me wait a week before they could get to my car to do a diagnosis (again with the phone calls) troubleshoot and charged me $100 to tell me they can't recreate the problem. I get enough looks when I go out in public, I don't need to pay someone to look at me like I'm crazy. I put less than 500 miles on the car, and eventually got my mechanic neighbor tell help me troubleshoot the issue. The problem was the starter I gave them to install. Told them the problem, explained my frustration with the diagnosis the didn't fit the bill. I asked them if they could apply some kind of credit to installation of the starter because it is the same work, and it'll be faster the second time around. They said "come down, we'll take care of you." Again with dropping it off several weeks later, again with them not completing the work when they said they would. I went down to pick up my car today and they charged me $500 to install the second starter- no credit for the incorrectly performed diagnosis, no apology for the confusion- nothing. Pros: They know how to install parts- the right way, every time. They always answer the phone They do sometimes call when addtional work needs to happen Security Concious Cons; Don't listen to direction- lack of communication between front of house and back of house? Seem to struggle with troubleshooting and diagnosis, even when holding the phone up to the car so they can hear noise, and later verbal descriptions Weird definition of "We'll take care of you". Most of the time that doesn't mean "I'll make you pay dearly for asking us to help you, and you'll need to pray we can deliver" Don't share in ownership if issues "I did what I thought the right thing was at the time- you pay for whatever I think should happen" mentality If I treated a supplier's family like this, I'd be ashamed to look them in the eye. Maybe I'm an outlier and they truly are reasonable with their pricing. Heck, maybe this is what passes for good service in the automotive industry. Goodness knows other people leaving google reviews seem to like it here- maybe they had worse expirences at other auto repair shops. Goodness knows I have.

Great value, honest, and knowledgeable. I had my 4runner towed here and they called me with an estimate within a day. They figured out the problem with my alternator, replaced it at a very fair cost and the car was ready for pick up just another day later. Highly recommend
