I'm a food snob. I can cook very good and expect better from places I go. Hands down, this was the best food I've ever had at a restaurant. The service was ridiculously amazing. If you haven't been.... go! We will now frequent here!

02/24/2024: We were able to secure a last minute reservation for dinner. The menu looked amazing and was such a difficult decision. We decided on the escargot, mushroom soup, seafood pasta, and blackened rib eye. Overall everything was delicious, Kerri is a wonderful host and we had a very enjoyable experience. I love restaurants that occupy old homes. It feels so cozy and the decor is very warm.Serving size is large. Dishes were very flavorful but also very heavy and rich. That mushroom soup was heavenly. Seafood pasta featured in house made pappardelle, which was cooked perfectly, as well as an assortment of seafood. Although the rib eye cut was not the best, it was cooked perfectly as were the green beans (bright green and a crisp bite). We were so full we couldn't even get dessert. We look forward to going back to try the other items on the menu.

Jean Pierre restaurant is an ideal choice for a romantic evening, anniversary dinner, or any special event. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant are stunning, and it gives off a vintage Louisiana vibe.If you're looking for a delicious appetizer, you should try the bacon-wrapped dates. The perfect infusion of date goat cheese wrapped in bacon and perfectly grilled is an incredible treat to your taste buds. For the main course, the Thermador cowboy steak is a must-try. The steak is massive and perfectly grilled to precision, topped with shrimp, scallops, and lobster, making it a delightful dish to savor. For dessert, we suggest sharing the chocolate tort, which has a hint of habanero, caramel, and pecans. It is a scrumptious dessert that you will definitely enjoy. Moreover, Jean Pierre's customer service is unmatched. The staff makes you feel like family, and the chef might even come out and say hello to you. If you're looking for a great dining experience that you'll remember for a long time, we highly recommend John Pierre's restaurant in Tumwater.By the way, if you require vegetarian or vegan options, you can let Kerri know when making your reservation. They are very accommodating and would be more than happy to cater to your needs.Vegetarian options: By the way, if you require vegetarian or vegan options, you can let Kerri know when making your reservation. Highly recommend! The service, food, and ambiance were all superb. Had a few drinks, crab artichoke dip, bacon jam filet, Oscar filet, espresso crepe brûlée, and chocolate espresso torte. Every thing we drank and ate were delicious.

The best meal we have ever had. From the appetizer to the dessert it just got better and better. Crab cakes, salmon, lamb chops, peanut butter torte and blueberry lemon creme brulee.

Love this restaurant! The food has always been excellent; just this time, our service was super slow. It took us over 2.5 hours to finish. I gave a good tip because of the food but if it happens again, the tip will reflex the service. We were late for our evening plans.

Excellent food. I thorougly enjoyed the meal, well done french cuisine served in american scaled portions. The staff were lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The only odd downside is something most american pallets are already going to be ruined for. There were candles everywhere, cheap wal-mart candles or some other source of paraffin candles. So basically they're burning little piles of dirty kerosene on the table. It would be a small improvement to make their atmosphere as prisine as their food, use candles with real wax. Its the same consistancy as servers not wearing frangrance, its in your nose and on your pallet.

Food and service are both amazing. Everything was delicious. My only criticism is the ribeye I received was a fairly poor quality cut (quite a bit of gristle and sinew, even in the eye). Could have just been mine, but it was a tad disappointing. The flavors and preparation were superb, so I don't fault the chef, but I might opt for a filet next time to avoid this. Overall, best food I've had in a long time.

Wonderful food. Super nice family runs the place. They have Thursday take away specials, which started during COVID, and they decided to keep since customers enjoyed them. You can find out what the Thursday special is by keeping an eye on their Instagram or Facebook pages on Wednesday evening. Dining area is a bit cramped for my preference, but some friends call it quaint. They are pricey, but worth it. If in doubt, try Thursday take-away first; then eat at the restaurant.
