I have been shopping at the VV in Tukwila ever since it opened so many years ago.
It is organized, easy lay out, helpful, polite employees. I love the bargains I find there.
Now, for the challenging, unfair and gross part of this particular store!!!
As with many other shoppers who left their opinions about no dressing rooms, I agree.
They think they are preventing walking out with clothes from dressing rooms. For those who intend on stealing, they do it anyway.
I see it every time I’m there. Women slip on layers of jeans/slacks and skirts under those big “fluffy” skirts. Shirts, sweaters jackets…they just put them over what they’re wearing. As for me, I buy almost no clothes there as I need to try them on. Their return policy is ridiculous!! Having to exchange for something else, instead of a refund or a gift card for later like Goodwill does would make them more money in the end. Goodwill in Tukwila also has 4 nice, clean dressing rooms. I purchase all my second hand clothing there!!! They care and take care of their customers who need a dressing room.
Now, the HUGE disgusting issue at this store!
The ladies rest room is the most filthy, creepy
space I’ve ever seen, offered to the shoppers to use. This is not occasionally… It is every time I am in the store which is 1 or 2 times per week. I have talked to the woman manager in the past about this. I have also spoken to several employees. One told me they “have a person come clean it once a month, but he hasn’t been showing up” I could not believe what I was hearing!!! The floors and walls are absolutely disgusting!
No seat covers, filthy sloppy toilets, full garbage cans (every single time) I’m lucky if the soap dispenser has soap!! And worst of all, and so gross is rolls of TP are often set up on the top of the holder instead of put inside the holder below. So think about it!!! You are touching all those other “potty hands” who pick it up and unroll to get what they need!!! I bring my own packaged Kleenex ! How this VV has not been reported and visited by the health dept is beyond me. If the ladies bathroom is this way, I can imagine what the mens rest room looks like!!! Beware. They need to do something about this. With all of the illnesses out there, why is no one in this store in charge of keeping their patrons safe
and clean!!!

This is one of the best thrift stores I’ve been to. It really has a great selection and reasonable prices.

We bought some records and the woman at the checkout ripped open the sleeves to scan the codes. Why did they put the barcode inside the sleeves? Thanks for ruining our new records.

Well, first off they don’t have a fitting room. I have never heard of a clothing shop that does not have a fitting room. They are probably losing so much money because who’s going to buy a pair of jeans without trying them on? Or a dress? No. Second, I know it’s summer and everything, but they should still have a selection of sweaters and long sleeves. They had nothing. I even asked and they said all they have our summer clothes at the moment. Pretty good selection of books though.

Terrible. I found a standing light I really liked and was told I wasn’t allowed to purchase it when I showed an employee that it didn’t have a sticker on it with a price. “There’s no one here to price check it.” So basically it was no longer for purchase AT A THRIFT STORE. I’m so infuriated! They then assumed that I’d removed the sticker when I’d been fully ready to pay for it whatever the cost but they WOULD NOT sell it to me. Go to another Value Village the employees here are not helpful.

The employees have an attitude at the self checkout line. Didn't really understand what they were even doing there, but I'm sure they won't be there once they get the bugs worked out at self checkout.

Went to Goodwill, Salvation Army and this store, value village had the highest prices and we didn’t find much that was good quality. Realize stock changes but dang those prices were high!

I used to like shopping at this store. I was purchasing at the self check out and chatting with the man next to me when a sales associate accused him of switching tags and demanded that he wait there for a manager. He left and then she came over to me and pawed through my purchases and demanded to know if I was with him. I said no, and she went through my items again. I asked her what the problem was and she told me to never come back. It was embarrassing, and I have know idea what I did. Don't think I will be back.

What kind of thrift store doesn't have a fitting room. They seriously just expect you to buy everything you are considering then just 'return' it if it doesn't work out. This is a garbage policy and I will no longer be shopping or donating items here.

This was my first visit to a Value Village and I was really impressed! I didn't wander the whole store but there was a huge selection of reasonably priced clothing in multiple sizes (and the jeans, holy crap, such a huge selection), and the shoe selection looked like it had quite a lot going on. My partner and I ended up getting four pairs of jeans, two pairs of shorts, seven knit shirts for eight bucks. Two pairs of jeans were Torrid brand and if you're familiar with them you'll know those usually run in the $60-$80 range.
As far as the employees go, no one talked to me and I didn't talk to anyone and frankly that's the way I like it. They were pretty cheerful with each other and the vibe of the place was pretty chill and relaxed.
All in all, I was super impressed and will be back to spend more money soon.

I’m not one to leave bad reviews, but this has to be the worst retail experiences I have ever had . I understand staffing is difficult , but I really hope for your establishments sake that you guys are able to do better than your associate Daniella (4/16 @ 7:00pm) who claims to be the manager of this location . She lacks every single aspect of customer service and she is one of the rudest staff members I have ever encountered.
