REI is loosing it.
They used to have something special, but not anymore. It used to be fun to go check out the cool stuff, check out the garage sale, even go there to kill time, but now they’re just another mediocre sporting goods store, selling they’re own mediocre line of clothes.
Now that they don’t stand behind their gear anymore you might as well buy your stuff from anywhere else. There are many smaller companies selling better gear, that stand behind the stuff they sell.
They’re return policy is and always has been flawed, now it’s worse. I used to laugh at their return policy, and how people abused it. Now I’m frustrated and annoyed. Before the change to a 1 year policy, someone could return a 20yo product they wore out for the new version, or insert ages and made up excuses. Now you can only do that if it’s less than a year. Now legitimate warranty issue is rejected because it’s a day over one year, but someone can return a jacket their kid outgrew because it’s a day less than a year, the list of examples goes on. There is something wrong with this policy.
The gear is mediocre.
The staff is mediocre.
The return policy is both hilarious and frustrating.
Each time I go in, they’re seems to be less and less customers.
REI is loosing it, and me as a customer.

HORRIBLE customer service management. Went into the store to inquire about a return and was met with the most condescending, rude manager I've ever dealt with. He may have been having a bad day, but if dealing with a customers concerns about returning a $180 pair of tennis shoes is going to agitate you enough to make you incapable of providing friendly customer service, it might be time to consider a new career. I've been shopping at REI for almost 20 years and I'm sad to say that this experience has me rethinking if I'll ever return.

Absolutely love the older male shoe salesman. He took the time to measure my feet and helped me choose the right shoes for my feet. This definitely gave the ole school experience I haven't had since I was just a child. Great service!!!

If you'd like three different employees to harass you about membership even after you politely decline several times (I almost NEVER shop at REI because it's overpriced) then this is the store for you! Seriously, I've had used car salesmen who weren't this aggressive and overbearing.

This is a standard, smaller REI when compared to others in the area, but what separates this from others is the staff. I had some of the best customer service at this location. The employees spent over an hour with me helping size the right backpack, and Joan even stayed past her shift because she was determined to finish assisting me, despite my insistence for her to go home and enjoy her night. I am more confident than ever I got the right pack, and the staff here even promised to honor the current sale, even beyond the sale date, on ANY other backpack should I not like this one and want to return it. Some of the best customer service I have ever had from ALL employees!

Ordered a sweatshirt online picked it up and went home. I thought something was fishy because my order was in a bag. I was told when I purchased something a week before they went bagless. Got home took out sweatshirt and found out that the shirt still had a security tag . I had to drive all the way back to get the tag off. Just was thinking what if their customer was taking a bus or taking an Uber. They did this on purpose. They have no compassion

About the ugliest clothing imaginable. Dark, drab colors. And nothing is locally sourced. All of these ugly clothes are made in third world countries and shipped on huge diesel-guzzling boats across oceans to these stores. Environmentalists would serve their concerns more effectively by BUYING LOCAL and not from this sort of store. U.S.-made clothing is always better made and more attractive.

The staff here are great. I could say a lot about how wonderful the stocked products and cleanliness of the store is, but it’s the staff that have made my experiences here so pleasant. Thank you for the professionalism and kindness.

I had a product that completely fell apart inside of several months of light use, when I went and finally demanded my refund their final line of defense was "Well look at this, we can't FRESHEN UP AND RESELL IT"Think about that, that $200 jacket or whatever? Could have been used for 6 months, returned, and "freshened up and resold".I'm going to corporate about this, I wouldn't trust these guys at all and I've been a member for over 30 years
