Wright Park is a beautiful and spacious park in the downtown Tacoma area. I have always drove past, but I recently spent a few hours here and enjoyed it. The park itself was well maintained even the playground and restroom area on a Saturday afternoon. There is a paved walking trail and a lot of open grassy spaces to take pictures, have a picnic, etc. I am glad I visited during the fall time because everything was absolutely stunning. The botanical conservatory is located in the park also and free. I didn't expect the park to be this nice or well maintained because of the location so it was a pleasant surprise!

This is such a big and beautiful park with a lot of history behind it, which has been around since the 1890's. It's right behind the W.W. Seymour Conservatory, so we decided to take a stroll to the pond. The park is well-maintained with a variety of plants and trees. It's no wonder that people enjoy strolling around the park, and many of them were also walking their pets. It was also fun seeing ducks swimming in the pond and diving for food. As the sign said, "parks provided beauty, wholesome recreation and fresh air, and allowed citizens to have daily contact with artfully refined nature." This park definitely provides just that.

Opened in 1890. This beautiful, historic park is the perfect place for a long walk, a nice lunch with the duckies, or simply time spent re-energizing. It's a gorgeous old park with old trees, a water park, and a gravelly path to stroll. It gets busy though- so be prepared for that and keep an eye on your kiddos. Excellent park with swings, splash pad, grassy area, and good sit spots for parents. The park area is pretty contained with different play zones. Some of the trees date back to the park's founding in 1890. Has a nice pond with a bridge across it. The conservatory is amazing and an absolute must visit! Even if you're not going for anything specific, you could probably spend hours learning about all of the different types of trees, flowering bushes and so on - because it would seem each plant has been meticulously labeled. It's absolutely worth the trip!

Lovely spacious spot for a spring stroll in Tacoma. Not much is in bloom yet, but this park is good for a walk and the hills add to the interest. Pond area was tidy and the ducks were in action. Clean park. Nice first date stroll in Tacoma.

I've been a admirer of this park for many years. It hosts a variety of community events . The grounds are always well kept. You can see the love that is put into its surroundings. This is one Tacomas most popular parks!!!

They pitch this as a wedding venue yet allow tent camps across the street containing people who scream obscenities and verbally assault patrons. This is Tacoma's shame. They just spent millions upgrading the arboretum and I wouldn't want to go there. When will the community come to its senses?

I regret taking photos on my last visit but it is hard to watch an active 6 year old on play ground with lots of energy. But the views I have seen served no written review alone. So I will take pictures next time. All I know is if you need exercise it will meet your needs. If you want to walk your furry baby , there is plenty of space. As I write this, some may ask is there still space ? Of Course? There is this lovely bridge with water to go across to more land. This is a huge park and they have did some beautiful improvements on playground too. There is a skateboard area that I learned about recently when I watched my older son skateboard. So pass word to yelpers who skateboard alittle. It is not a big one though. It is a small area. If you have children with sensory needs like I do. They have a sensory swing. So I was impressed with that! We all enjoyed that swing! After that Mami (Mommy) was ready for a nap! I have more exploring to do Yelpers and next time will have more pictures on next dry day.

Not great, was harassed by feral homeless woman In the bathroom. She was minding her business just trying to be and a homeless woman screamed into the last stall then threw her body into my friends stall. The homeless were everywhere and were attracted to the planes flying in the sky for the Fourth of July. Also creepy men were watching the children playing in the water. Overall wicked vibes.

This is a lovely park in Tacoma that can be a really great place to go for a stroll, extra bonus if you can come down here on your lunch break for some fresh air. Most of the park is various gravel walkways and it's basically an arboretum. Most, if not all, of the trees are imported from various corners of the globe and they are labeled with signs that are nailed to the trees. There's also a botanical conservatory which is open by appointment only as of writing this. Definitely a nice area for the kiddos to play during the warmer months as they have a playground and a splash park. This park also has several other amenities, including sport courts, bowling greens, etc. Not amazing (or large) enough to be worth a drive, but if you're in the area it's a nice place to stop off and get some fresh air and enjoy some nature.

A huge park in the middle of downtown Tacoma. The Good-A wide open space amongst the bustling city is a welcome reprove from the insanity of life right now. Playground, pond with ducks, tons of birds and trees and a water feature in the summer. Great little conservatory for plants. The Bad-Upkeep was lacking a bit. Trash here and there and playground equipment was definitely in need of repair/replacing. Uneven walking for kids all around the play area. The Ugly-Frequented by a lot of homeless. Situated in between hospitals and halfway houses this park tends to draw a lot of homeless, drug addicts, mentally unstable people. We witnessed drug use, a person yelling and twitching at themself while walking and multiple people sleeping in random spots. The Skinny-I'd stop in for a quick trip, but wouldn't picnic or have a day date there with anyone. Too sketchy. A lot of other options available nearby.
