“We recently hosted our team work retreat at The Pioneer Collective in Tacoma this past October, and it exceeded our expectations in every way.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere set the perfect tone. It is such a fun, detail-rich space—far from a sterile office environment. The design is thoughtful and incredibly inviting, and the entire space was spotless. It really helped spark conversation and kept the team engaged throughout our time there.

From a logistical standpoint, they didn't miss a beat. All the technology we needed was ready to go. A huge shoutout to them for having a variety of adapters on hand as well as coffee and hot water within the conference room. Not to mention their great coordination before the meeting.

The location is also unbeatable. Being right in downtown Tacoma made it so easy to step out and enjoy the local amenities during our breaks. Whether you need a venue for a serious strategy session or a team-bonding day, I highly recommend The Pioneer Collective. We will definitely be back!”

“This park has a swing, slide, something to climb and twirl and play basketball.
In the summertime the city has a water sprinkler they turn on, restrooms available.
People can also jogg and have picnics here. There's plenty of open field space for other activities.”

“This venue was absolutely perfect for our 1920’s themed end-of-year celebration! The building’s history and elegant décor were a highlight and sparked great conversations among our guests. The staff from Jonz Catering and the event coordinator were exceptional—kind, professional, and incredibly helpful. Everything ran seamlessly from start to finish. We would gladly choose this venue again if the opportunity arises!”

“West of the Waterway was a great venue for our wedding reception. The inside is gorgeous and offers an intimate yet spacious area. The outdoor balcony is a perfect place for happy hour and an escape for those who have been partying hard. The view from the venue is amazing and the amenities they provide like chairs, their wood tables, the rounds, and guest chairs were all in great condition. Keisha the Venue manager is amazing to work with and her experience with the venue helped curate the perfect layout. She was extremely accommodating and wanted to help us make the day perfect, and honestly with an amazing venue like this one that was pretty easy.Unfortunately we did have some issues the day of the wedding. According to our coordinator a lot of the power outlets didn’t work, so we had to change our layout to accommodate that. We were never notified of this issue prior to the wedding day. Also, we had wedding crashers walk right into our wedding reception, behind the appointed site manager who was oblivious to the whole situation and never even made contact with the wedding crashers. I, the groom, and my dad had to ask them to leave the site and we were the ones to notify the site manager who was just sitting at a guest table on her phone when we found her. Luckily the random people who were allowed to walk in unnoticed didn’t steal our gifts or cards, but it would have been really easy for them to since they were never confronted by anyone but my dad and I. It didn’t bother me much the day of, and luckily they were just a few guys who wanted free booze, but that could have gone so much worse. Overall still a positive experience even with the few mishaps.”

“I WAS A 1ST TIMER
1st time going, starting at the door opening at 8pm to guy to checking ID and a guy to take the cover charge, which both were funny and welcoming. we had a reserved table and got seated ordered drinks. our waitress, was excellent, she got all our drink orders correct and delivered as quickly as possible, the place was packed, she was polite, outgoing and friendly making us all feel welcome, she truly seemed to enjoy her job, which is always a +, we had enough time to get comfortable b4 the show started around 9ish with 2 pianists who started with an interduction of themselves & then explained; how song requests worked, breaking it down on how to request songs, & if a song they were playing u heard enough of it u cld put a $20 (less or more)with song ticket to get them to stop playing that song and move to a different song. these guys were great at the piano and singing the songs correctly; however there were a couple songs that the rythem of the words were off, but over all it was a blast. They interacted with the entire audience. We left around midnight even though this place was still rocking, people were still coming in as we left.

“If you're looking for a fun new way to celebrate an occasion for all ages, this place is a hidden gem! Highly recommend experiencing slotcar racing. Alan the owner was the most generous host with his time, place and guidance to a party of about 40 people who had never slot raced in their life. He graciously let us book a party of 15 kids plus parents and extra family members in the middle of his busy Christmas month. You get access to a large party room with a kitchen and comfy seatings. Free to roam the whole racing floor with so much to look at between the two racing tracks. Even if you're not into car racing, this place evokes nostalgia of being young and wanting to be grown up and experience something new. Really hard to describe how much fun everyone of all ages had. Our son was turning 5 and we didn't want to do the same family fun centers we had been going to with other kids parties all year. I stumbled upon this place and couldn't have been more happy with the event. My son will be talking about this for years, as well as the rest of the family and friends. The logistic things to note. You can bring any food you want to serve. The only ask is to take out all the trash at the end of the party and leave it as you found it. Bring big garbage bags for quick clean up. Ideally plan for 1 hour for racing and 1 hour for food and cake. We were a large group, we went over time due to the learning curve of how to race and picking cars. So I suggest another hour if cars aren't already chosen ahead of time. Alan hosted by himself and improvised our needs as we went and was relaxed on going over time since we pretty much had the venue to ourselves. No rushed feeling of other parties waiting. Front of building parking, full bathroom, full kitchen with fridge, microwave and stove, separate party room, huge open concept racing event space, guided how to race and racing experience. Scores are taken and winners announced! Such a great new experience. Aside from the really affordable venue cost, you have to purchase a car per racer if they don't have one already. So instead of a grab bag, we let each kid choose from the base model of colorful cars to race and take home! They can then now be able to come back and book lanes to race at this place anytime! Overall pretty comparable in costs with other fun centers with add ons. But the experience is so much cooler!”

“This space is stunning!!! Truly a beautiful space and we loved having our event there. Everyone’s reaction as they walked in was so fun to see and the owner was absolutely amazing to work with and so accommodating. Highly recommend!”

“Lovely museum. It's not huge so you only need to budget a couple hours to see the whole thing. Unfortunately parking is not free. We visited during their Día de los Muertos celebration and had an awesome time.”

“Beautiful park, with walking trails . Playground area and a small lake with a bridge and fountain. A pity that at the time I went, the bathrooms were in a terrible state of cleanliness.”

“I can't express enough how fantastic Studio 6 and Natasha are. While I had some background in ballroom dance, Natasha has taken my skills to new heights beyond my expectations. The community she has created is wonderful! There's always a friendly and enthusiastic person to dance with. I highly recommend it!”

“Exceptional venue in the heart of downtown Tacoma. The acoustics are amazing! Wonderful sight lines and from every location and super comfortable seats.

Plenty of free street parking during the evening. Simply a fantastic place to see a show!”

“Was very pleased with my experience overall. Parking in the garage was easy to validate at the theater, all the employees I encountered were helpful and pleasant. The seating was generous and comfy and the popcorn was really very good! I'll be back to this location without hesitation.”

“The people/ staff here are really great! They'll help you with anything and everything and there is SO much to do! Culinary classes for only $129 that teach you SO much more than you ever expected. It's just a great place and we're over 70 and loving it!”

“We went to haunted house here and it was fun but I would recommend spreading out time people go in because the people in front of me was going to slow and the people behind me would get the scare that was ment for us.....so it was kinda off...we going to go bk and try again but just an fyi!”

“Nice and clean rooms. Secure parking lot. Great location if you're going to Cheney Stadium for a game.
Overall it was a pleasant stay. I would say the price is a little high for what you get. No continental breakfast. And the wording for the bottles of water is a bit ambiguous, (BEWARE).
You'll get charged 3 bucks for them. I'll definitely look somewhere else next time.”

“I went to the Home and Garden Show at the Tacoma Dome. It was wonderful. Saw it all in about 5 hours! Lots of innovations in New ideas! I hada great time there, and the best part was Thursday was the opening day and it was a free day! That made it even better! I have attended many events at the T-Dome and it is a nice facility for any event!”
