It was so much fun. We have been attending The Tacoma Concert Band concerts for, at least 8 or 9 years. The new Maestro, is great, and he adds to the Band. Acoustics were ðŸ‘

Amazing how instrumental music transcends language barriers. The feature, Russian pianist Aviram Reichert, is absolutely thrilling. :)

OMG...yet another reason to have trouble returning to Dallas! I am starting to like it here:) We had a most delightful afternoon last Sunday at the Rialto Theater. It is a beautifully restored early 1900's ( a guess) theater in downtown Tacoma. An intimate venue for the symphony:) We heard a lovely program of Ravel, Mendelssohn, and Beethoven. The orchestra was small, maybe half that of a larger city....but quite professional and well seasoned and wonderful energy. The conductor made this event so special to me! Harvey Felder is such a charming, gracious man, I just wanted to take him home with me! He began by explaining his thoughts when organizing the program and highlights of the composers themselves and the pieces to be played. Not too much instruction, just enough. He ended by inviting us all to join them at "Alfred's" after the performance. Not free of charge of course, just to mingle after the show:) He was just a sweetie and I was very taken with him. I guess I need to get out more as they say:)
