Came here for Motown Monday. Lost a jacket. Came back 2 days later. Jacket was gone, but Mexican food was here. All in all, amazing party on Monday. I danced the entire time. Food on Wednesday was really good, loved the nachos. Definitely a later-night option seeing as I came around 11PM or so. Yummy carnitas. What a diverse space with nice staff!

Nice staff. It's upscale bar food. It's a dive. It's cheap. It's in the CD. It's perfectly decent. And perfectly Seattle. It's a dive. It fits the bill. Oh? Did I say it's actually pretty damn good food? While I'm here though: Some woman the other day freaked out about them not having ApplePay. You bourgeoisie mediocre human being: grab your wallet and credit card next time and shut your mouth. No one told you to wear that dress without pockets. The way you treated the bar staff was uncalled for and extremely obnoxious. If I worked there, I would have slapped you out of the bar for being so nasty and then justifying your disappointment with some feminist irrational thought. You were treated politely and you were impolite.

I'm currently sitting in Bar Sue, initially disappointed that the gnocchi truffle Mac I've been dreaming about all day (from zagat and other reviews) is no longer an option here- it's mexi, nothing southern other than the name. What turned this into a 5 star review: - the chef (friendly dude in a zeppelin shirt) made me a sampler of sweet potato with queso, topped with pico.... holy shiz, this is a party in my mouth. So freaking good, and I appreciate how super welcoming he was to a newbie eating solo. - the boisterous bartender chick was friendly, quick, and attentive. That's what he said? I'm not in the area all that often, but when am, I'll be back to see what this chef has come up with next. He should probably have an awesome little restaurant himself.

Bar Sue is a great place to just hang out! They pour a great drink. And inside Bar Sue is a walk-up window where you can get the best taco you've ever had. Chef Max will make sure of that! He is adventurous and not afraid to try new things with food. You like spice, he'll give you spice! Good drinks, great food, you can't go wrong.

Had to pick a place for a meeting so I hastily looked up the first place I could find within a 5 min radius that had happy hour and food, this is where I landed. Also I'm aware this is where mo town on Mondays pop off, however that's not what I came for. Which is tight because Barsue was actually a lowkey great spot to have a meeting (lol). For real though the staff is chill & friendly and its already a familiar place. But also when the suns up or at least today on a Thursday around like 6 it wasn't too busy, which is my favorite. The tacos were reasonably priced & they were surprisingly good, not that I thought they'd be bad but bar food usually is just bar food, ya know.

Tonight the entire staff of Bar Sue saved our group's night. We were out supporting our friend who was diagnosed with cancer. Insomuch that we all wore wigs, some so good that no one noticed. A girl in the crowd came up and told me that someone thought my wig was offensive. I said I'm sorry I don't have time for this. Another girl came up ripped my wig off and threw her beer at me. I quickly went to security and told them what had happened, even the bar back stepped in to help us. It started out as a horrible night but ended up the best. Thank you Bar Sue for hiring amazing employees who understand that Capitol Hill is a safe place for everyone.

Bar Sue is great; come here. Divey, Southern aesthetic quite different from most other bars in the city. Staff always really friendly and the rotating clientele of bar-camping regulars all look eccentric in different ways (good ol' boys, gays, grungers) but share a non-self-conscious weirdness; people that all like cheap booze, and who like whiskey. Cute baby poodle of one the punters standing on 2 legs on the bar rn. Smattering of bright blue (Modello) and bright red (Rainier) neon signage in a dark, Hogwarts-like expansive interior space (Hogwarts desks in the center and booths on outside walls). and great taco stand inside (btw the chorizo quesadilla is amazing with this crack-like crispy roasted cheese as wrapping). These are my last few days in Seattle. Been here 4-5 years; never really found the home I wanted. Last time I came in here was on Election night; was here when votes started coming in and it became clear Hilary wouldn't win. As most every liberal young person in the place ran home and disappeared in the space of a few minutes, I saw the start of a bottomless pit; psychically, ontologically. So I wanted to come back tonight and weather-vain if the despair was related to the place. It was not. Folks are going on. We can't go on. We'll go on

Love that there is a quieter option bar on the hill, one where you can sit and savor a good whiskey drink and view random film on the wall in the background. But major FOOD UPDATE: no southern style chicken or Mac and cheese found here?! Was totally looking for Mac and cheese. Also, not much if any HH other than a Rainer can.. Sad if the demise of the great sounding past reviews did that in? However, all is not lost.. There is a Taco Window where you can order some grub at least! We were happy with drinks and the taco window made a great take on Quesadilla, very cheesy, crispy and surprisingly tasty, runs about $9. Sadly, I say Skip the queso dip. Very small cup of cheese w/chips for $6. Come to bar Sue for a rare quiet bar with booths and tables to share whiskey drinks with friends, has a great dive bar vibe that is clean and has a well stocked full bar!
