tonight i mentioned to store manager i would like to have option to have cashier ring me out and he volunteered to ring me up. He said the cashier was going on a break but would be back. the self check out cashier was very helpful as well. i was very impressed by my interactions with Safeway employee's and managers tonight!! Thanks for listening and your willingness to understand im old School and like to have a cashier check out my groceries.

I gave 2 stars as there is a very small minority of helpful employees and I like the produce section. However, I am going to do what my son does in the future, drive past this store and go to Trader Joe's even though it takes an extra 40 minutes round trip. At the end of a pleasant morning of running errands, I stopped to get a chicken breast for lunch. I knew better, really, as I have shopped there for over 30 years and the management has never insisted the employees be courteous. I grabbed a few other groceries as well and as I was leaving my cart locked at the exit and a very officious woman stomped over and demanded my receipt and a security guard came over and blocked my way, which was unnecessary because I couldn't get my cart out anyway. I'm sure the line that formed behind me thought I was shoplifting. I refused to show the employees my receipt because they were breath-takingly rude. The person who was supposed to be taking care of the self checkout specifically accused me of stealing a bag of kitty litter. I did offer my receipt to the manager who came over who didn't bother looking at it, presumably because of my history of being a good customer. It turns out that the cart had locked because I had turned the cart toward the interior of the store when I left, which I did because people were blocking my way out on the other side. I suggested to the manager they put up a sign or tell people not to turn the cart back toward the store. The employee who accused me of stealing the litter was standing right there when I moved my cart in that direction and said nothing. The manager was a slender Asian woman who is very much in the minority as she is always courteous. She apologized profusely and told me she would talk to the employees about treating the customers better but the rude employees did not apologize. Even if they had, it would not make up for the humiliation they put me through.

Told the cashier "Mark" that I needed to get cash back with my purchase. I explained it had been awhile since I had done it. Mark had his phone earpiece in his ear and was having a conversation while working checkout. I think it was a work convo -- he was saying another employee didn't know how to do their job. I looked at him asked what keys to press next. Looked past me. I did not get my cash back. He sort of shrugged and handed me my receipt. I didn't want to go to the cash machine outside as it was getting dark and I didn't want to be a target.

Rude employees! That racially pro file you! I was checking out in self checkout and this Asian lady was staring me an my kid up an down and proceeded to walk over to us an further try an intimidate me. I let her ass have it. Bet she know better now. You don't act a certain way with people just because of their color!

Who ever orders the coffee creamers, THANK YOU!! I am diabetic and always on the look out for Sugar Free creamers and the only flavors I can ever find are Hazelnut, French Vanilla, and Italian crème. After a while, you get tired of those.
Yesterday however I found Chocolate Carmel, I can’t tell you how excited I was to discover another sugar free flavor then the three usuals. I know it sounds like such a small thing, but It absolutely made my day! So thank you to whoever is responsible for that!

Still shopping here. In the last year they updated the entire store and really updated the produce section. Like all stores the sale price is still the best way to go. Be sure you get the app or sale sheet. Pharmacy here is nice and efficient. Products in that are are slightly higher priced unless on sale. Dairy section is slightly limited due to space as are other areas of the store. They do manage to cram a lot in the space, so you can usually find what you want. I don't shop meat here much as I prefer to know country of origin, but they do have organically produced meat. The seafood selection is better than past and no smell (as in fresh and maintained). Large selection of beer, wine etc. The deli is much improved, but no Chinese as they don't have the space. Chicken -yes and the ready to eat or cook area has expanded. The Bakery is still hard to get service at, you may need to ask at the deli. I rarely come early mornings so that may be the issue. Parking is private lot and usually packed Cleanliness: average to above Starbucks: Yes Delivery: Yes - fee but usually a discount on 1st order Order for curbside pick up: Yes Restrooms: Yes

I will start by saying I love cake. Having said that, I buy cake slices from the bakery at Safeway several times a week. I do not understand why their cakes are always so dry. They look terrific but OMG the taste does not match the look! Very dry cake and the frostings are too sweet. Would appreciate a little attention to the baking if you intend to continue to sell cake items. Up your game a little and you would have a customer for years.

This is the 2nd time I've been in to order a sandwich from the new sandwich station in the deli. I waited both times for SEVERAL minutes before someone even acknowledged me even though I was the only person in line. It is like pulling teeth to get anyone to even acknowledge you when you're standing at the counter! It's like they avoid making eye contact hoping you'll go away. The first time they were out of tomatoes and somehow, even though they're a grocery store couldn't get me more. This time they're out of mustard. You're a grocery store......! My sandwich took over 20 minutes to make because the bar was not stocked and the associate (Kimberly, very rude) had to slice the meats and cheese and veggies (they were also out of most of the veggies). She seemed very annoyed at having to perform this particular function of her job. I almost just walked away midway through her making it. Why have a sandwich bar if you are not going to stock it or staff it with people who actually know how to help customers? When I asked a deli worker who the manager was, he told me he didn't know.......? Honestly, the deli here is awful.

They spend BIG $$ to convert the store from Albertson's to Safeway but a PENNY to upgrade their bathrooms that are still run down and dirty. Their New layout is No improvement IMO. I have over 50 years of Retailing experience under my belt to base my opinions.

Today there were at least five customers who were not wearing masks and it was not being enforced by the staff. There was even an altercation between customers about mask wearing.
