After 27 years of military moves with companies like Mayflower, NorthAmerican and JK, I know quality. Now that I’m honorably retired, I guess I get to see the other side of the coin. After destroying over $2000 of our household goods during shipment and storage from Olympia to San Antonio, Susan Maiden abruptly said that she’d only approve $700 worth of damage and cut us a check for $200. She ignored the value of a handed down Chinese crystal platter that was smashed into 17 pieces. She said an $800 destroyed cermamic kiln has no value since it’s hard to ship those intact without damage. Had your packers said, “the Chinese platter will be replaced for $13 and the kiln not at all”, we’d have gone with someone else.
I’d love to share this review across every social media platform and veteran resource networks available so that other veterans will know that once you hang the uniform up, NA doesn’t care anymore.

I do not recommend using North American. I scheduled a whole house, cross country move months ahead of time. When my driver arrived, he claimed that the driveway was too long and had a full truck anyway. He just left without telling me. North American, Tacoma said there was nothing they could do, since their drivers are independent contractors. I was due to leave for a new job on the other side of the country. I had to scramble to find new movers at the last minute in the middle of summer. Luckily, Atlas was able to help me. This delayed the arrival of everything by 3 weeks.

Excellent customer service throughout the entire process. We worked with David to get the process started and John was our driver. Both were very professional and John kept us informed along the way with updates on arrival. Would highly recommend!

They took the time to work with us from start to finish. Given the number of times our household goods were handled, we had very few issues with damage.

This company is worthless at best and a scam at worst. They don't care about customer service. They make promises, take your money, fail to meet promises, then refuse to give your money back. Run far away from this company. They are also not a moving company but rather a broker...once they take your money, they will not resolve issues.

This process can be painful and full of stress. The team that took care of me helped me em early and even in this time during the virus outbreak, found a way to get our belongings moved.

This company will go through a 3rd party service to deliver your stuff, half of my valueables were broken, they said it would take 5 days to bring my stuff, it tool 23, the guy was rude and russian and you couldnt understand him, uhe left all of thw trash and said he is not responsible for it. He then hired a couple random people to unload everything and then only paid them 40 each when promised 100. Do not go with this company they are truly awful.

North American moved my husband's stuff from Puyallup, WA to Paso Robles, CA. Our estimate was GROSSLY underestimated. We were quoted originally about $8000 for 4 months storage and moving to San Diego. For 1 month LESS storage and 300 miles LESS of a move, we were charged over $10,000. The clerk didn't even bother telling us how much it was before running my credit card. We only found out because it was over my $10,000 limit. THEN, when his stuff was delivered, the movers COMPLETELY scuffed up my walls, carpet, and hardwood floors. I called a week ago to find out what they planned to do about it, but still haven't heard back. Filling a lawsuit.
