July 2024 by Matthew “LIMBACK TREE CARE” Limback
I paid for 149# of grass fed beef of which 25# was bones and scrap, steaks, roasts and ground the ground was fine ...hard to mess that up, the roasts were good too, but the steaks were terrible
What I was given what was more of a chuck roast that they called a porterhouse...there was a huge chunk of oval shaped bone where the tenderlion should have been and the stripside was no better with several small shards of bone and a 3 inch strand of grizzle which made 90% of the steak worthless (I took pictures) clearly not a Porterhouse Steak or any other cut of Steak for that matter!
When I spoke with Kathy she did not want to hear my complaints and told me she was right and I was wrong!
There were other problems as well ...the Tbones were tiny and one sided and the bone was more of a lettrr r than a T appeared to have been ripped up the middle and incomplete as if ot was only half of a steak?
The Rib Steaks were so tough they could not be eaten Then there was the issue of the ribs ...we got 4 small pieces of short ribs and no actual ribs..but there were no rib bones in the rib steaks so what happened to them?
Come to find out I have a friend that had the same exact thing happen to him here...!
One of 2 things happened here...either the meat cutter doesn't know what they are doing and destroyed the cuts by cutting them wrong...or they Cherry picked all of the good stuff and passed off all the junk to me and thought they could get away with it!
I will never do business with these people ever again and I encourage Everyone Else to do the same don't let there clean shop and tasty pepperoni fool you...they are Not Honest and Will Not Stand by thier Products...You can get nicer steaks for the same overall price at Safeway!
Also they steal all the scrap and make dog food out of it and sell that to the public even though it's not thiers to sell...it's Yours!

Brought my deer there last fall. Very disappointed in the condition of the work. Deer was cleaned (with in reason) and skinned when it arrived. Instead of getting my backstraps removed as roasts they cut everything up and called them round steaks. There was little to no clean up. I am finding blood shot and hair in the cuts. All roasts are left bone in.
I am greatful that they were able to take my deer at the end of late modern. The staff was very polite. I wasnt pleased that I had to have an order of 25#s of smoked meat out of my deer in order to have them process it. They won't be my top 3 options for processing.

This store recently sold me a quarter of beef. I was highly delighted by the cleanliness and the prompt, polite treatment. My beef was even wrapped by them! I've been to a lot of butcher shops where they just send out crates and you have to pack up your own steak, so that was a really nice and unexpected touch.

I recently purchased a quarter of beef from this store. The timely, courteous service and the cleanliness really impressed me.They even packaged my beef! That was a really lovely and unexpected touch, as I've been to a lot of butcher shops where they just send out crates and you have to pack up your own beef.I was quite satisfied with the service overall, and the packaging job was really well done.

We had Mt. View butcher a couple of hog now. They do great. Sausage is ground right and the flavor is great. Very clean shop. Nice quick turn time.Portions, cuts, and packaging definitely as good as or better than any shop we've used.

Andie was very personal and personal. Turn around time was good. My deer summer sausage was excellent, so much better than my friends from another butcher. I definitely recommend Mt. View.!

Won't ever buy from.this guy again. Took advantage of my disabled daughter. Made her pay cash only when not posted. The amount of fat on this meat is ridiculous. Way over charged!

Brought an elk in to be processed. They did a great job. I had some made into pepperoni, might be the best pepperoni I've ever tasted.

My wife and I bought have of a friends cow, the company that did the slaughter insisted apparently on taking the cow to this "butcher". The bad started right away with them when I called about my cut list after being told by the owner of the cow to call them. We have butchered several cows over the years and I do a lot of my own meat cutting as I worked in industrial meat production for years when I was younger. First, I asked if they could grind the chuck as that is what I prefer to do with it anyway. There would be an additional fee for that, okay never mind I will grind it myself. Then I realized they did not ask about New Yorks and Tenderloins, so I called them back and asked about that and was told there was a fee to separate them instead of just cutting T-Bones (have your opinion but T-bones are a waste of good tenderloin meat), so I agreed to pay the fee because I do not want T-Bones. Time to pickup beef, owner of cow says go in Saturday and get your side of beef. So I go in and they cannot find my name on a slip, they keep suggesting different names, pretty sure I know my name and phone number. They are going back and forth from front to back office and I am waiting, I believe owner came out extremely rude and told me to just hold on and I had to be patient, I was not being impatient but the rude behavior from her when I was doing cut list and now pickup told me a lot. Get beef home, go to open a pack of sirloins first night. Now, the top sirloin has distinct muscles and one of them is commonly called the mouse muscle, you should always remove this and put it in grind as it is almost inedible due to grain etc. This butcher cuts it in with the rest of the top sirloin (this is called a "full face top butt steak") which is the most undesirable way to cut this meat hands down. I could almost forgive that but consistently the meat I have opened, steaks and roasts, have been poorly cut and not cut to my order in most instances. The moral of the story here is they do the most minimal amount of work possible and do not even do that very well.Side note, the friend I bought the side of beef from had a deer they got that weekend, I broke it down and did the butcher work on it for them so they would not have to go here as that was their only option at the time.
