If they say they’ve cancelled your membership—DON’T TRUST THEM. Get proof of cancellation and do not leave until you have it, or they will continue charging you for a crappy membership you don’t even use. Terrible experience.

I love this gym. Friendly staff, regular cleaning and updating. In the last few months I watched them drain and scrub the hot tub, paint the pool area, clean the pool and fix both saunas, multiple times. The men keep putting liquid on electric coals and short circuiting it. They complain it's broken but it's their own doing. The gym does its best to keep up with it but it keeps occurring. People who go here are messy and some tend to not clean their machines after use, which is nasty. Always clean your machine before and after, just in case. Most of the people are friendly and luckily no one has cameras recording. I've never had issues getting a bench, pulley or the machine I need to use. The racks do get busy. Tons of cardio machines. Some days/times are busier than others and the pool lanes can get full. But again, people are friendly and don't mind sharing lanes. The parking lot has plenty of parking. I needed to downgrade my plan from family to just myself and they took care of it, no problem. The staff really are great.
Only complaints are that I wish others cleaned up after themselves, to include in the locker room and that thieves didn't steal from the men's lockers.

Overall this facility is pretty good. The staff are really nice and helpful. It’s really close to point defiance. For me that’s a little out of the way but it’s really nice when I’m planning a day at point defiance which I do regularly. I can go here after hiking and enjoying the park and use the hottub and shower for recovery from outdoor exercise. It’s a big location and seems pretty clean.

Enjoy a good sauna? Don’t come here. Saunas been broke for about 6 months.
It’s part of the membership you pay for.
Ask when it’ll be fixed? They have no clue.
Ask a manager? They just tell you a random day to get you to go away.
WAY too much money for a gym that’s ALWAYS broken; bikes treadmills included.
24 hour fitness is 8 minutes away from this location. Pool, sauna, court, you name it.
Significantly cheaper and the sauna works ??♂️

I canceled my membership in early June and asked to not be charged again. I hadn’t used the facilities in months.
I was asked to come in person on June 28th to pay for my last month and cancel. I was told that after I paid, Michael would apply for a refund for the dues I had to pay in order to cancel. I informed the gym on June 3rd that I was discontinuing services.
I still had to come in person and pay an extra months of dues just to cancel which is ridiculous. But Michael told me he could get it refunded so I was happy to do it.
The refund hasn’t come through, so I talked with my bank and explained the situation and how I was asked to pay for a service I had discontinued. Essentially I am being held hostage by LA Fitness for wanting to cancel. Now I am being asked to pay AGAIN to cancel my membership.
I had canceled June 3rd. Why am I still being harassed over a month later?
The facility is outdated as well. Not a bad gym. But when you want to cancel expect to have to buy your way out.
Really a bad experience for my wife and I. Feels like a big corporation is holding me up with red tape for trying to cancel. Terrible experience.

Awesome gym friendly staff. This gym located on 6th and pearl is a great location. I like the equipment and and the staff do a great job of keeping the gym running.

I want to like it. But the sauna has been broken several times this year. The pool area has tiles popping off the walls and the carpet is old stained and ripped. They have raised their prices but there is nothing that has been improved.

This gym has a really neat feature. While you’re working out people will bust your lock and steal your wallet/keys from the locker room!
I had this amazing experience while using a trial pass to sample this incredible gym and it’s unique thieving amenities.
Needless to say, I lifted a few weights and was able to interact with Tacoma Police. Super neat!

Spoke with Alexis to discontinue my membership after moving out of the area who confirmed my account was deactivated. Was charged another month the next month where I called and cancelled my membership again, then charged the annual fee 2 months later. Asked for a refund and no help was given

Pro: Not crowded. Tons of parking. Friendly staff.
Never a wait for machines I use.
Con: Idiots often break sauna. A little dirty, despite good workers constantly cleaning.
