Gene Juarez Tacoma is at a great location. You must pay for parking on the street but I’ve never had trouble finding a spot and the parking fee is minimal (less than $2.00). Staff are professional yet friendly.
Stylist: I’ve been seeing Jae at Gene Juarez Tacoma for years now. I come in for a cut and styling regularly. Jae is always on time, professional, and confident in his work. My hair always looks amazing when I leave and the cut holds up for close to 8 weeks (meaning my hair is still easy to style and looks great even if a bit long) - which makes me happy!
High 5 to Jae! ✋

I love Heather, don’t know that you could faint a better hair artist. Makes me feel beautiful. Really discusses the plan and is a clear communicator.
Hair type: I have very long hair that has an odd/ unexpected texture. Heather is the first person to have an honest conversation about how that texture plays out in a cut. LOVE IT

They moved to downtown Tacoma and don’t offer parking. There are plenty of other GJ’s in the area that have free parking. I would suggest trying them. Ridiculous that they make you pay for parking after charging so much already for services. Front staff was also pretty glib about it when I asked. Maybe instead of justifying this, think of how it affects your customers.

Every experience I have at Gene Juarez in Tacoma is phenomenal. The service and genuine care from the staff is felt right when I walk in the door. Because of my facial guru, Heidi, my skin has never been better!

Absolutely disappointing and overall bad experience. I was thinking a simple blowout is very hard to mess up, but I was wrong. They gave me a stylist with a 15 year experience who doesn’t have no idea what a decent blowout looks like and as she admitted she wasn’t really willing to try. To be charged a 100 dollars for a minimum and miserable service is a shock. As someone who uses hair salon services weekly, I would not recommend and definitely would never come back.

Front desk is very welcoming & offer coffee/tea.
Chae ‘Jae’ did a fabulous long hair curly cut for my daughter with a beautiful blow out. She was beaming all day & very happy with it!

Have moved to Tacoma and needed a new hair stylist after 30 years with my old one. I was extremely lucky to have William (Bill) take my appointment. He talked to me about my hair, what activities I do and how much interest I have in styling my hair. He gave me a wonderful cut, not too long or short!!
I also had a face wax, It couldn't have gone better. Karissa talked to me about the process first. She was very gentle, got all the wax off my face and checked with me during the process to make sure I was comfortable.
Fantastic experience all the way around!
Really wish you would bring back manicure and pedicure services!!

We are a long time paying customer. We are told that they offer free bang trims - all you do is walk in. So... one day we walk in. We are told, "sorry - we are all booked. It is best to call ahead". So the next day, we call ahead and are told, "sorry, we only do walk-ins." I then share what I was told the previous day (to call ahead). I then asked if I can make an appointment for a bang trim and was told, "sorry, we don't make trim appointments - we save our appointments for paying customers." I am pissed. I ask to speak to the manager and the lady hung up on me (I am going to assume we were "accidentally" disconnected.). I immediately called back and asked for the Manager and shared my experience with him. He then says, "sorry - all we can say is to call ahead and if we have time/openings, we can squeeze you in."Beyond frustrating.... I hung up and cut my daughters bangs myself! I did pretty good, too!!
