  First. The movers didn't want to disassemble anything- yet this was part of their services. Second, they left behind a box. Third, I specifically set aside items to NOT take and they took some of them. They seemed surprised and dismayed that they actually had to package delicate items even though I paid for this service. Definitely complained. They left behind box and packing garbage. As another reviewer noted, the furniture was not wrapped at all when put on the truck. My ex boyfriend packed better than that when he helped me move. Rod was impossible to get hold of and failed to follow up after the pick up. I have moved internationally and have tried to contact this company by phone and by email. No response. I finally got someone today- only to be sent to voicemail. Based on other reviews, I'm scared to see the condition of my goods when they get here. I am so unhappy. I have no idea what the final cost will be nor when my stuff will arrive. errrrgggg...

  FIRST, THIS IS NOW COLEMAN / ALLIED!!! So please note that Coleman is no longer associated with American Van LinesIn my life time, I've made 2 in state moves, 2 cross state moves and 2 international moves. I'm not moving this time, but was widowed last year, and am now in the midst of a huge downsizing.I needed to have packed in Olympia, then shipped to my nephew and his spouse in Glendale California. EVERY contact I have had with Coleman/Allied has been wonderful, from the person who came to do a walkthrough to see what was going, and give a written estimate, to the scheduling staff, payment staff, packers and delivery persons.The normal procedure is to give the delivery people a cashiers check before they unload at the destination. Of course, in this instance, I was not going to be receiving delivery, so I chose to prepay by credit card, as an extra protection against any problems. Yes there is a small fee for paying by credit cardThe packers were at my house on time on Tuesday last week, having phoned about a half hour out as I had asked for. The two men would friendly, courteous, and respectful of both me and what they were packing, which included packing very expensive fine crystal, breakables that had belonged to my great grandmother, valuable artwork, an antique Edison wax cylinder player with a box containing over a dozen original was cylinders, a massive Minton china services, plus a number of other things. They completed all the work and left about noon. The next morning I received by both voice and email, that after weighing, I had been overcharged and would be receiving a refund for the overpayment. Saturday, both I and my nephew were notified that delivery would be made the next day, Easter Sunday. Sunday afternoon my nephew phoned to say that they had received everything in perfect condition, also by respectful, courageous movers.At no time was I out of contact with Coleman through this entire period. THE REFUND FOR OVERPAYMENT. That's already been credited back to my credit card.Please disregard previous negative reviews, as I truly believe they had nothing to do with Coleman, but with their former association with American, NOT ALLIED.

  I canceled my move because their staff is disorganized and incompetent. Could not get the facts of my move correct (date, locations, help I would need day of move). After five attempts of speaking with staff (and them promising my information was saved) it was like starting from scratch every time. Confidence is gone. Read these reviews after I cancelled and feels like I a dodged a bullet. I definitely don't recommend.

  Moved my elderly parents from Georgia to Florida. They had a driveway with narrow turning access. The rep came out and assured them that a straight truck would be needed due to the nature of the neighborhood and their driveway. They explained that there would not be a problem entering their property with that particular truck. HOWEVER, on the morning of the move, a large tractor trailer showed up. We explained that they told us a straight truck would be sent. We were told they would try to call and get the correct truck. The truck was unavailable. We were then told they would have to send a U-Haul truck and make trips back-and-forth between the incorrect tractor trailer they sent and my parents' house. We were also told there would be numerous charges added to the bill at that time. My elderly parents were standing in their driveway with all of their belongings packed and ready to go. There was no way to change what was happening. We were also told to call and explain what had happened to the area supervisor. Upon making that phone call, we were told it was not their fault and we would have to pay the extra $1000. Basically, you signed the contract- so pay. It is clearly written on the contract that we have that a straight truck was to be sent, but they continue to badger my father over the extra money and have even threatened him with legal action. It saddens me that a business such as this is allowed to lie and bully its customers. Beware of extra charges, and pack your valuables yourself. Many items were broken in the move. We had used them prior to this, but will not use them in our upcoming move.

  I had some good interactions with this company so I am giving it the one star. Unfortunately, they failed to number/tag some of my boxes and those boxes and only those boxes were lost. Those boxes also contained the most expensive items. So it seemed to me like foul play. I wish I'd seen these reviews before using them. I guess I know why now. Also, they contract out to non-union people so I had to either have an almost 80 year old carry things up the stairs for me or let a guy with a broken knee carry them upstairs. I told him he should get workman's comp and he said that was "not going to happen" in this situation. There were other terrible aspects (scratched, broken items etc.) that I only realized after they dropped the stuff off and I signed on the dotted line. Bad experience. Use another mover if you can.

  If I could rate them zero, I would. Where do I start? We used Coleman Allied to move from WA to AZ. We waited almost two weeks to receive our items after moving into our new home. Once the driver picked up our items, we could not get updates from Coleman Allied. We called, left voicemails and emails, and our assigned "move coordinator" did not respond. After about 5 days of "where is our stuff?", she finally told us that she could not get in touch with the driver!! When we finally did receive our shipment, many of our boxes had been opened and gone through, expensive items were missing and some of our furniture was damaged. When we sent in a claim for the missing items (we were going to send in two separate claims, one for the missing items and one for the damaged items), Allied eventually rejected our claim of missing items because we did not pay the additional $600 for insurance. We have to pay to insure AGAINST Allied employees? Their name means nothing. We thought that spending over $10K for moving should have been enough. We have met several neighbors with similar experiences with Allied.

  This is the worst experience we have had with movers. Several pieces of our furniture were broken, a Cutco carving/knife set worth more than $1000 was stolen while in their possession (appeared to be an inside job) and never recovered, and our furniture arrived several days past the contracted date. Coleman would not accept any responsibility for the broken furniture, stolen items, or being late. Because we had no furniture, we ended up sleeping on the cold floor for several days. We kept calling Coleman's to try to get our furniture, and for several days they stonewalled us. When our furniture did finally arrive, the driver thanked us for our patience so that he could attend his daughter's wedding in Vegas. Terrible experience. Wish we could rate them lower. We definitely would not recommend them to anyone.

  My entire experience with Coleman Allied American was fantastic from start to finish. I hired them for a move from Seattle to Southern California. I thought the process was relatively straightforward and found each person I interacted with to be friendly, knowledgeable, professional. I interacted with a variety of people (warehouse team, sales, accounting, move coordinators, movers, etc.) and found everyone great. I think with moves, there are things that can pop up or issues that can arise. We fortunately did not have super fragile or sentimental things being moved so it took a bit of the edge off of us. That being said, the guys that packed the truck in seattle and unloaded it in Southern California were efficient and great. It helped that James was the guy who drove the truck and was there for both legs of the journey. Overall I am very happy with the experience and would definitely work with them again in the future. A few tips to know: 1) The warehouse will generally have boxes, tape, packing material available for free (you gotta pick up). This prob saved us a few hundred in packing supplies. 2) A sales rep will come to your house and do a very comprehensive review of your belongings. This will take about an hour. It's worth it and hard to replicate vs. trying to get a quote online. 3) From pickup to arrival can take about 7-10 days (unless you pay extra for expedited delivery). Keep in mind your belongings will likely be shared with other moves and the truck stops multiple times. 4) If you are transporting something fragile, you will want to pack it really safely and then also ask the movers to put additional pads to protect it. I moved a tv without a box and it made it ok with no damage. 5) Ask who your driver will be. We fortunately had an incredible driver who worked for Coleman that was there from the start to the destination. Being able to get updates from him, and knowing he was in charge of our cargo was reassuring. 6) I read some other reviews of people who had issues with pricing. I personally found it to be straightforward. There are two rates, one slightly variable, the other a fixed price. The variable one benefits you if you have less stuff during the actual move, the fixed one is great if you don't want to worry about purging more stuff. I went with fixed and there were no hidden surprises after the move. 7) It's not necessary but I recommend providing the movers with lunch, and a tip after the job is complete. If you show the teams respect, that will be reciprocated. 8) It's important to give the company a heads up on what your driveway setup is like. In some cases they may need to use a satellite truck (smaller truck) to load your belongings which then get placed on a huge big rig.

  Incompetent and reckless--they broke a desk that was in my family 6 generations, broke my great grandmother's 8 place-setting china set, destroyed an expensive basket, broke a marble table set, and that's just what was obvious at delivery. I've moved all over the world and NEVER seen damage like this. Just look at how they handled a box clearly marked as FRAGILE. My belongings were professionally packed in brand new boxes with no damage. They arrived looking like they'd been shot out of a cannon and then Hulk smashed. I was crying as the movers (who in NO WAY honored the appointment time set months ago) kept telling me to stop it and SMILE--I wanted to murder them, but there were witnesses and cameras. After several phone calls, no one has called me back. Don't use this company unless you want to to lose your most valued items due to pure apathy and incompetence.

  Sadly reporting a negative rating for this moving company! Out of state move Seattle/Henderson NV. Salesman who we've done business it past with cane and gave us a PRICE Guarantee estimate. Said "with PG move would not exceed". Ok, but can it go down? Yes, if you do most of the packing and at time of move you are below the estimated weight thus number will go down. Ok, but NOT up (my question). Yes, correct! My husband and I purged furniture and household items if efforts to reduce cost. We delivered entire kitchen, 1/2 of bedroom (daughters) living room furniture via U-Haul to pullman w. Leading up to our move we received weekly calls from them asking if we needed anything how everything was going etc. one week before move they call and ask if it's necessary to have packers cone the day prior to pack? I said no not really as I've done most of packing with exception of TV's , beds, fragile picture , odd size mirrors! They came out anyway without most of the packing materials needed. When questioned about several unpacked items they said driver will do that! Ok! Day of move, driver shows up and walks through and then challenges the move! Wait what? Challenging the move? Yup, you have more then the estimated weight . I want to get paid and I need approval from Allied that they are going to pay me the overage! We explain we have the PRICE GAURANTEE! Yup, I see that! Delays the move pending approval from Allied! Approval, actually from the salesman! He got that approval and said they will try to pass this overage onto you! You have the PG , so stand your ground he said! Ok! We reach out to salesman and nothing! We hit the road , arrive at our new home. Can't deliver goods til you pay! Ok, pay the PG and I question the reduction in the packing cost. They assure me there will be a refund in that area and will be in contact within a week with final paperwork. I receive a email with the breakdown of packing costs and a rebate of about $600. Then I receive the final weight for our move and they said we went over our PG weight of 2100pds which will be additional $1300. So, we're keeping the rebate and you now owe us $641. Wait what! I replay immediately! No reply! Husband calls explains , no returned call. I text our salesman. No return text. Husband calls again, actually speaks to someone and they apologize and said they will look into this. Nothing ! No return calls no nothing! Still after one month nothing. We called yesterday and finally spoke with the gal from the entire moving process. Husband explains everything (which she knows). And she says there is a clause that states on the paperwork if you go over by 10% if estimating weight then overage is charged. He asks were that was located and we still can't find it. I text our salesman, no reply! A lady from another Allied calls us (assuming Corp). She informs us we went over our estimated weight. Therefore , you owe us. We question the PG and what's the point of this and her reply was , "Ok, we can refund you your packing savings then send you the invoice for the overage $1200". Or we keep your rebate, we eat the overage! Your choice! Husband says". How do we as a consumer know that the salesman under estimates the move weight just so you can take advantage of getting the move then passing on the extra charge to the consumer". This is wrong and we had a PG! WARNING DO NOT USE ALLIED! Ed has several comps Yes come under the price Allied quoted us but choose them because of the PG!

  Coleman-allied moving company suck! They lost my new bike and denied my claim :( like wtf you lost my bike and I am out $1500 Coleman says allied lost my bike and allied says Coleman lost it. We even paid for extra insurance. Don't use them! To start off we moved from Washington to Michigan our stuff was picked up and packed nicely in boxes and white paper then packed into crates and nailed up. I signed off on the loading of items because I watched each item be boxed and packaged. I then waited for 3 days past delivery date and Coleman kept saying the truck was being serviced. When the truck arrived 3 days late he showed up in a semi to big to come down our road, so he had to take his truck to find a uhaul place to rent a uhaul to then unload my stuff from his truck into the uhaul then back to my house. Come to find out, my stuff that I paid $5500 plus extra insurance was taken out of the crates, placed into storage then picked up and loaded by the hired out truck driver then again moved to the uhaul. That is a whole lot of handleing of my stuff, and the truck driver had my stuff just loose in his center area. He was with his son who then put my stuff into my garage upside down and open. My boxes were open and crushed and my 1500 electric bike was missing. Do not sign the paper at delivery unless you have seriously went through packages item by item or you will be told SORRY you signed off in the papers. I guess they want the truck driver to sit and wait for you to do that. Anyways I am sure that most moves go as planned but mine did not. 3 days late and no compensation asked for, I just want my bike. How can they not trace my bike? It is either 1. In your facility somewhere 2. Someone else's house ( delivered wrong) or 3. One of the employees stole my bike. Now I would like to think it was just misplaced but come on it has been over two months and both companies blame each other and the truck driver. Save your money and get a uhaul. Nobody had helped me from Coleman allied movers, they just give you different people to call and they in turn do the same. I would love a call from a higher up, maybe they will go to the warehouse and find my bike lol... Or not. This Is such bad business. Not to mention we are military and they could care less!

  I recently completed a move from Gig Harbour WA to Gibsons, British Columbia Canada and Allied is truly the Careful Movers and the entire staff involved in my move exceeded my expectations, which is very high. A special thanks to Melanie, Ciera, Ray, the loaders and unloaders. Ray, the driver was especially very patient and pleasant as I was late meeting him at the border due to last minute items I was dealing with. He especially was a joy to be around! I even got to ride with him shotgun along the ferry to destination as his GPS was not working fully in Canada. All of my belongings were accounted for and not one piece of furniture was lost or broken. You ALL earned top stars!! THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

  Please, save yourself time, money, and stress by going with another company ... ANY other company. Our moving experience from Seattle to Denver was awful. We were told we were paying for a door to door move, however we ended up having to help the movers for 2 days in Denver, taking time off work to do so. At our final destination in Denver, the company only had one person, the driver, lined up to deliver our belongings. So the driver called up two of his buddies that lived locally and asked them to help with the move (these were not employees of Coleman). We spent all of the first day helping the movers sort through our belongings at a remote location, just so that they could deliver the correct items to our new apartment. After this, it was 5pm and they wanted to start moving our belongings into the apartment. By 8pm they were partially done moving in the belongings. The whole time they were complaining about the job being too hard, not enough help, our belongings being too heavy, etc. They were literally throwing boxes into the apartment. So my husband offered to help them, to try and get the move finished. They still had to come back to finish the move the next day. They were supposed to put our belongings in specific rooms and reassemble our furniture ... they did none of that. The movers told us they didn't know how to reassemble the furniture that their company disassembled in Seattle. 2 weeks after the fact, we finally got 6 pieces of furniture, including our bed and our daughter's crib put together (they had lost several pieces needed for reassembly). We called corporate customer service several times about our dissatisfaction and never received a call back. We contacted the BBB ... Coleman took 5 weeks to respond and then lied about coming to an agreement with us through the customer service department. To this day, we have never heard back from the customer service department. And all of this is in addition to the hundreds of dollars in damages that our belongings incurred. PLEASE HIRE ANYONE ELSE.

  It's 11:22 pm, we are traveling north bound on i5 and one of your movers is driving all over the road ran one car off the road and this is NOT ok. The truck with the plates B29801w was the one involved he was cussing and flipping people off. You should really check your employees and there driving. It makes it clear why reviews are saying how all of their belongings where broke and etc.
