This is an excellent place to take your pets for care! I recently moved to Tacoma and I am so happy I found Button Vet! Every interaction I have had with the team at Button Vet has been 10/10 amazing. Their front desk staff is very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The vet tech who saw my cat and I was also equally helpful, friendly, and clearly loves pets. My cat Malory was seen by Dr Jeremiah who really took the time to answer all the questions I had and while also calming my cat down. Dr Jeremiah took a personalized approach to Malory's care. I can really tell the staff at Button Veterinary care about and love their clients and I highly recommend them if you are in need of a vet for your furry friends!

We moved to Tacoma a few years ago and they were the only vets post covid who would take new patients. They have been truly great for my elder dog who has been through a broken leg surgery, a stroke and just this weekend a massive eye and throat infection. They got us in and took amazing care of my dog at the last minute. Truly a caring veterinarian. My only gripe is how long medicine refills take. Beyond that tho, A+. 5 Star.

My French Bulldog Pickle has only received the best care from Button over the years, I wouldn’t trust anywhere else with his health and wellness ?.

Best vet I’ve gone to. My lab was extremely nervous at his other vet and he had no problem at Button. They were so understanding with him. Would highly recommend!

I had the worst vet experience I’ve ever had in my life here. I’ve taken my other dogs here before and had a wonderful experience, but I took my dog Sandy here for her yearly check up and to ask a few questions about her health. The Vet we got was not there for my dog at all, she took a comb to her real quick covered it up and said “ ooo look two fleas”. then asked for her to comb for more cause I know when my dog would have fleas, did a full body comb through and didn’t find a single one. Then tried to get me to put her on flea medication, FOR THE FLEAS SHE DIDNT HAVE. Asked her to look at her tail because she’s been agitated with it lately and to see if she could look at her ears. All she did was lift one ear up not even look inside it or anything and didn’t even bother looking at the tail. The vet ASSISTANT that was with her that day should be the actual vet there she was pleasant and very nice with my dog.

TL;DR: Support staff ? Dr. Krueger? I hope the behaviours listed below can be addressed so they do not continue to impact lower-income clients negatively.I'm conflicted in writing this review. The support staff at Buttons Veterinary Clinic were wonderful, kind, and compassionate, and I desperately wanted to feel comfortable with this clinic. However, in many ways, Dr. Krueger was the opposite of her support staff. Firstly, as a low-income client due to my ongoing health issues, I had expressed concern with the estimate presented to me, and the exasperated reaction that I received from Dr. Krueger would lead you to believe I requested free services instead of asking if there were a lower cost blood test available.Later, I was called by Dr. Krueger and informed that my cat required surgery. She was rather insistent that I needed to urgently make my decision as she could "move stuff around and do the surgery today", but "it is getting late". She also told me confidently and falsely that the low-cost clinics would not perform this surgery. After I received another out-of-my-budget quote, but knowing this was necessary and, as she repeatedly stated, urgent matter, I agreed to have the surgery the same day and charge the cost on my care credit-- But now Dr. Krueger was wavering, stating pro's and con's to having surgery today but still seemingly giving me a 'choice'. Once again, I said I would like to proceed with the surgery as she had stated how urgent it was; however, after a brief pause, she said that that was no longer an option and they'll schedule the surgery for "sometime next week". I cannot describe how irritating this whole, meaningless back and forth was.Further, upon picking up my cat from the clinic, I was shocked to see a $130 charge for CLAVAMOX. This is a medication I am very familiar with, both from a professional and personal standpoint, and I would never pay $130 for this medication. Upon speaking with the support staff, who once again are empathetic and very communicative, I realised that after repeatedly stressing my genuine financial constraints, I was being prescribed the more expensive version of this medication. I explained to Dr. Krueger that, no, there is no need for me to have a liquid-based medication as both my 15-year-old cat and I are familiar with pill-based medication. Dr. Krueger then argues that because she and her team, without consulting me on the cost and after being made aware of my financial situation, had already opened and administered a single dose of the more expensive medication, I was liable for the price. The cost for the liquid CLAVAMOX is over double the cost of it in pill form.Though Dr. Krueger told me, when providing the estimate for surgery, that the low-cost clinics would not be able to assist me with this surgery, I received a call from Pasado's Safe Haven, who helped secure my cat and me a next-day appointment with Seattle Humane. I hope that in the future, words and actions are chosen with more consideration for the impact they might have on the client's and animals' lives once they leave your clinic. What may seem like an insignificant price difference to some may be the difference between keeping a roof over their heads or the heat on to others.

Best vet for my Shep. Always prompt professional and friendly. The prices aren't bad either.

Caring, informed veterinary doctors! Even the front desk staff is kind and helpful. We've switched 3 of our pets over to this vet and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others. My wife has worked in animal rescue for 25+ years so she's incredibly picky about veterinary care and after 3 different other vets she's 100% happy with this office! We've now had surgery on our dog here, and gotten serious help for 2 of our cats. One has made a dramatic turn around after years of behavioral issues thanks to the care received here. Their new facilities are beautiful too! Bonus: you can get in for urgent care even if you're not a current client (that's how we discovered this place and became clients for life!) ?

The only place I bring my little old man! They’re patient and kind with him every time his chronic illness flares up, and take the time to clean him up before he comes back home. Best prices in the area, too! Button is my favorite neighborhood vet practice, hands down.

Newly remodeled vet hospital. By far the nicest and most well equipped I have ever seen. Staff and ownership are absolutely amazing

Whether an emergency situation or a regular office visit, the whole team is kind, experienced, and invested in the well-being of my dogs. This week in particular I was touched first by the obvious concern for our sick pup, and then the obvious joy during a phone update after her health turned around. I am so grateful for Button Vet.

I’m always grateful for the wonderful care my fur babies have received here for 30 years. Most recently the euthanasia of our 19 year old cat. Dr. Claypool is the best. However, I would not allow Dr. Krueger to be around my pets, ever.Thank you Dr. Claypool and Barb for your continued commitment to excellent care and compassion.

Called multiple times to get records, first time they accidentally (I'm assuming) answered and I could hear the staff having a great laugh about LL Cool J. They hung up once they realized I was on the line, then I called back four times and got hung up on every time. Cool!
