We had a great experience here for the kids birthdays. We did 3 birthday bears, pikachu, and stitch all dressed and with sounds for just under $200. Birthday bears cost the child’s age they are turning (for us, two $6 and one $2) plus tax. The other stuffies are $30+ or so. Clothing varies $5-$20. Sound is usually around $10.
This is not a cheap experience by any means, and I recommend doing the whole thing (sound and accessories) since that’s part of the magic!
The staff here were incredible with my high energy SPED kids.

Went to get my daughter her birthday bear. It was nice, just kind of chaotic but that could be the day and time we went. I wish there was more variety of clothes, like I was looking to dress the bear like my partner since he is gone for work a lot so our daughter could have a "Daddy Bear". But they didn't have any maritime deck worker-like outfits.

This is the place to go for a personalized gift for your loved ones! Ask for Ciara, she is unbelievable! I was in a rush and my flight back to Germany was on Wednesday. The “teddy bear” (actually a Longhorn ?) my daughter wanted so badly wasn’t available at the store but should come in Thursday. One day too late. But Ciara went far and beyond for me to make it happen so I was able to pick up the Longhorn just in time. That’s customer service at its best and I can’t thank her enough! She is one of a kind and I’m so thankful for her effort! If any of her superiors read this: give her a pay raise, she truly earned it. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH CIARA!!!! ??? YOU’RE THE BEST!!!

We take our kids here every year for their birthday. Every time we go it has been a better and better experience. We love the friendly environment and great staff who have always been patient with my 4 and 7 year old. The manager is super friendly as well. My kids have always gotten a birthday crown and sticker without me even having to ask. It is worth the drive to go to the Tacoma build a bear for us!

Went there for my anniversary today, Lillian was amazing, thank you for amazing service and giving us the dual bear heart ceremony! Everyone there is super friendly and I would gladly go back!

Took a special needs youth to get a Build a Bear here. The whole process was really nice.
I loved that there was a whole process and certificate. The clothing items that we requested were unavailable, and the woman running the cash register offered to mail them to our house, which was really awesome to know in the future.
The only part that REALLY bothered me was that The woman who was stuffing, our bear was trying really hard to upsale us items, Which we didn’t mind, I get it, it’s good to know what options are available, BUT NO means NO. I was really bothered when I had already said no twice that the sales woman asked for a third time “are you sure”. My special needs individual that came in with us had to stop the woman and tell her that she was too sensitive to smells, and she didn’t want them. Saying no more than once is unacceptable.

Tonight was our first ever Build-A-Bear experience and we attended with our Girl Scout troop. I was really impressed with the staff - they were enthusiastic, patient, and kind! The scouts had a fantastic time! Thank you for making this a very special memory for our troop!

Lillian and Kaide were phenomenal!!! I came in to build a bear with a voice message for my mom with Alzheimer’s and they were very compassionate and went above and beyond to help me. Definitely keep them around.

Went for the birthday bear! Kylie was so helpful, love her, such a sweetie! Our baby was too young to do a lot of the process but she had us rub his nose with the heart and when he popped it in his mouth she laughed and said he was “giving the heart a kiss!”Such a great employee!

The store had a great variety of bears and clothing for almost any occasion (Valentine's, anniversary, birthday, graduation, St Patrick's, children's gifts, and more) I was surprised to find they had a good stock of limited time or special edition bears and clothing as well. The staff was extremely friendly and even offered the adults a chance to stuff the animals, rather than just doing it themselves.
