My son has been going to PT here 29 visits according to Ann We, PT, who is leaving this agency in 3 weeks. She tells my son, who was totally deconditioned/bed bound in hospitals, totally severely malnutritioned out, no muscles left in his legs from an undiagnosed illness, that he will be discharged. My son is barely walking in a walker and she sees fit to discharge him?? This is not about insurance payments, he has unlimited visits as long as medically necessary. She hurt his knee yesterday and wanted him to walk down 18 steps not holding on to the rails. Again, he is barely walking in a walker with support. He has done good in 4 months, but this is a 3 yr recovery and she wants to discharge him due to she is leaving?? Yes, I do have a call into the director. You do not put vulnerable people OUT. But my guess, few of the other people there glad she is leaving. You don't hurt my son or discharge him. He is not at max capacity. Nothing else she can do. How about doing her JOB. She pawned him off on other therapists being the assigned one. So what is really going on.
Update: Decision was made that she was to not do any PT with patient. Directors response. NOPE. That was not honored. She approached patient and said she was going to try something different. Patient refused, and she then began to stalk and follow him into the elevator. Creepy behavior. A business is a business and verbal agreements are not good anymore now I guess. . Save the bad employee and rid of the good person, the patient that had NO issues with anyone and everyone else there, yet, I heard a lot of not so good stuff from about her and that attitude, wow. . So therefore, we are giving in to ATI's request from Thomas Hurst, clinic director and patient will transfer to another ATI facility closer to home. More personalized. When will they get it, that their dysfunctional employees should be removed and not lie to cover up their image. and BTW, the charges are a big on the fishy side that now I have to intervene and find out, how are they getting 4 payments per visit?? Broken down in 4 ways?? highly HUH??

I transferred to the Tacoma location after starting at the Federal Way location. The atmosphere between the two locations is completely different. I much preferred Tacoma because it is a quieter location. It also felt like the PTs were willing to communicate at my level and speed. This was important because I have communication difficulties. While at the FW location I constantly felt lost and unsure what to do, at the Tacoma location I was given clear instructions without delays. I especially appreciated how clearly Ann Wu demonstrated and explained each exercise. She was also very personable which really helps when you have to do exercises that feel slightly embarrassing.

ATI came highly recommended however each location is different. I was very disappointed as a Patient. The two Therapists I worked with had no personality. I didn't feel welcomed or valued. A few other employees seemed very unhappy like they hated being there. Maybe Management? I cancelled a few appointments and my last one. :(

For the most part the therapist and PT Assistants that worked with me were excellent, however sometimes there was obviously over booking situations were, therapist had insufficient time to give more instruction/guidance and I basically could have done all my exercises alone.
I also wondered why I when I asked to use dumbbell weights for both arms the PTA was told only to give one for affected arm if person wants to exercise both arms they can do that at home, I am not sure that is appropriate as not everyone has equipment to do that and I know other household items can be used as dumbbells but I still think that may be an inappropriate comment to make without explaining what and how everyday objects at home can be used.
In the end while I have not progressed to the level I expected I understand that may not be possible and maybe my doctor should have been clear about that prior to surgery?

I rehabbed a shoulder injury here over the course of 12 sessions. At the end we agreed to transition to home exercises and my therapist would provide me with a specific home routine to focus on what still needed work. On my final visit the therapist was working at another site. I was assured they'd follow up via email with the plan. Almost two months later I've received nothing, even after reaching out via email and phone. No issues reaching me for billing though.
