Great experience for a scary time with our dog having eaten a rubber ball. They took excellent care of all of us, calm atmosphere, confident, honest, friendly staff. Highly recommend!

The staff was very kind and compassionate. It was a little expensive but on the other hand my dogs care was extensive.
I would go there again.

My cat Star Lord received great care with Dr. Moren and the Technicians and Assistants who work here. He had to stay for a couple days to get IV fluids and antibiotics. He also ended up needed a feeding tube. It was very scary but I appreciated the communication with the staff and them letting me and my husband visit him everyday. Star Lord is doing so well now. He is taking his medication and gaining weight. And just today, I saw him playing with the kitten again. The staff here literally saved his life. Thank You All So Much!

Everyone has different experiences, especially when it comes to tough circumstances with pets or people we love. And pet parents would pay millions of dollars for vet care if we had it. This place was understanding and considerate. You can tell they love and care about animals. Way better care than most affordable vets or walk in places. I'd rather pay a little more upfront for quality care and honesty, than less upfront and price gouging later. And they took care of us here and the bill was so very reasonable. Thank you sumner vet. Overnight staff was very kind.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Sumner Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Kylie Van Maren and team for your expeditious and expert care of my Saggia Bear. Thank you for performing her emergency C-section and getting the remainder of her babies safely into this world. Thank you for not discriminating against my very large breed "scary" baby dog and loving on her in my absence. I am forever grateful!! Pupdate at 4 weeks!

We have always had great care at Sumner Veterinary Hospital and our recent visit was no exception. We brought our senior dog in for rehab after spinal surgery. Ken was so kind and gentle with her, taking the time to gain her trust before leading her through a series of modalities, including hydrotherapy. We are so excited to be working with this team to help our girl get back to her old self!

Not a great experience. Triage took over 2 hours for my dog who was in congestive heart failure, and the only reason they thought to check for CHF was because my mother (a respiratory therapist) said that it sounded like he was in CHF. Had brought him in a few days before with same symptoms and they said he was fine. Multiple vets missed that my dog was literally dying.
2) Nurse could not remove the IV from my dog without causing undue pain, trying to cut it off when it was wrapped so tightly she couldn’t get the scissors in there. What resulted was an unnecessarily long, struggle filled & painful experience for my dog.
3) overpriced. I get that vet care is expensive, but every time I talked to someone it was a different price quoted. First it’s 1k, now it’s 3k, now it’s $500+ per shift, now it’s another thousand and some change, and now it’s and now it’s and now it’s— I feel like vet offices in general take advantage of people’s pain and stress to milk what they can from them, absolutely no sense of transparency around pay. And also:
4) no transparency around care. My dog is sick. He’s got multiple chronic and degenerative conditions, now including CHF. When I try to ask about his prognosis and quality of life, I got fed a lot of stuff about one of his conditions, but not all of them together. What is the prognosis for HIM, for MY DOG, not a random otherwise healthy dog with CHF. My dog has been through so much trauma throughout his life and I have routinely wiped out my savings because vets cannot have a legitimate discussion about what all of these conditions actually mean.
I get it, you’re a business, but the least you can do is treat the animals and their humans with dignity and care.

I don't mind the prices, vet bills have increased everywhere. but I wish they would tell their patients how long the wait will be. It was 10pm on a weekday when I went and I talked to other people there who had been waiting for 4 hours. I asked the receptionist how long it would take for us and she said she didn't know. I ended up taking the risk and leaving, my dog was fine. it's unreasonable to have people wait that long.

They did a great job. The wait was 5 hours, and the cost was $1200 for my dog's respiratory needs. She was dry hacking and couldn't keep down anti-nausea meds. I was told to take her to an ER. After looking at reviews, I decided on Sumner Vet Hospital. They took X-rays and gave her long-lasting injections. The first night was tough, but she's beginning to recover. 4 stars due to long wait and cost.

I cannot begin to express how thankful we are for helping us save our very sick puppy. We woke up on a Sunday morning to a sick little 2lb Chihuahua pup we had gotten a week earlier for our son on his birthday. We called several places to just be turned away. Just when we felt we’re feeling helpless I made one last call to Sumner veterinary hospital explained what was going on and without hesitation they said bring him in and they would be waiting his arrival. From the Dr, techs, the entire staff they explained everything step by step and gave our little guy a fighting chance of survival. We are so very grateful to have found such a place that the care is impeccable and if I could give 10 stars I would. We have found our veterinary place here and will take our fur babies here in the future for care. They are truly the best and have such compassion for not only your pet but us as owners too!! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you from little Honcho?

The staff was great from the minute we walked in the door, nobody likes having there pets being taken to ER, but they were all carrying and great to deal with.

My mother had an important appointment for her dog to get an allergy shot that she had to wait over 4 weeks for because she “had to have a regular physician”. She got a call the morning of the appointment (that is vitally important for the dog) saying that the vet is sick today so she can’t come in unless she waits another 2+ weeks for an appointment or unless she pays $225 for an emergency appointment. The dog is in desperate need of the shot but this place wants to nickel and dime their clients instead of helping sick animals. Horrible and inhumane business practice. I cannot recommend this place at all in good conscience after this experience, which is a shame because I had previously had a good experience here with my own dog.

Everyone at Sumner Vet is incredible! They work very hard and are very kind and attentive to all your pets needs. I recommend them to all the pet parents I meet and call them every time I'm worried about anything related to my fur baby.

Awesome place! First time visit for Takani (Belgian Malinois) and her owner. Even though Takani received stitches for her wound and the dreaded cone of shame, was made a pleasant experience from all the staff. Thank You!
