Went down to the post office today, Sep 22, 2023, and arrived at 1:12pm. The lunch hour is supposed to be 1:30 to 2:30pm. It is clearly marked on the screen that is pulled down when its closed. This isn't the first time I've had issues with this post office. They also couldn't sell me stamps last time I was there (maybe 1 month ago) because the person who had access to them wasn't there, in the middle of their normal business day. What kind of post office doesn't have stamps available?

I have been a resident of Steilacoom since 2015. About a week ago the Steilacoom branch of the USPS decided on its own that I don’t live in my house anymore and began to “return to sender” all my incoming mail. The letter carrier placed a green slip in my mailbox directing the “new” residents to fill out the form so that they could begin to receive their mail. This morning (15 May 23) I went to the Post Office to explain the mistake and the desk clerk was condescending and extremely rude, directing me to fill out the new residents’ form. I tried to explain that I wasn’t a new resident, she cut me off and directed me to fill out the new resident’s form. She wouldn’t even listen to me.I was extremely surprised with her reaction to me and my problem because she was falling all over herself for a retired firefighter just back from vacation; picking up his held mail, then I come up to the desk and it’s stink-eye.I just wanted to know why my mail was being “returned to sender” because I haven’t moved and didn’t request any service to do so.I hope my mail delivery gets turned back on, but like they say in the Army “Hope is not a plan”

I have been very happy with the service at my local post office. So very convenient and never been a long long line at all! Highly recommend!

I miss Arnie, he was always kind and helpful to me. But he's gone now, today is Thursday, Feb 23, 2023, and not even a holiday, and this post office's window NEVER OPENED TODAY. No staff, no explanation was posted. No one to take PO box rent payments, sell stamps, or collect payments to mail packages. Our locking mailboxes on the street are constantly getting broken into; we need our PO boxes and services. My issue is with their bosses: What is the postmaster trying to accomplish? Alienate and drive away customers? I feel punished as a Steilacoom resident, Mr Postmaster. We are 6000+ residents here who need this Post Office to remain open and functional.

I am just so grateful to have a post office conveniently located in my town. I cannot think of a government agency that I have not been frustrated with so considering this, The staff does the best with what they have.

I rarely even go her but in there Defense I think it would be stupid to ridicule a small postal service that is in a small town. They usually aren't busy because it mainly dose things at a smaller scale hence smaller town. So keep your mouth shut, some of those in there are accualy trying there best.

My husband and I walked there today to ship packages. No one was at the front desk. Someone working in the back told us to call back later if they found a replacement for the front desk. We called a little later during the day and no one answered. I tried calling again and they hung up the phone on me. Don't waste your time going here.

If I could give Ernie at the Steilacoom post office zero stars today, I would. He verbally complained repeatedly about customers walking into the store on their lunch breaks to mail their holiday packages and VERY passive aggressively voiced his displeasure by not addressing customers respectfully and courteously, rather he very loudly said "well, if you're standing here at 1:30 the gate is going down and I'm going to lunch." He was absolutely rude and lacked any sense of customer service. He was with the same customer for almost 17 minutes complaining about every customer who walked in behind her. We are all in the same boat sir. Kindness and respect sir goes a long way and today you lacked both. We were next in line and walked out because we couldn't listen to you berate customers anylonger.

One staff working. He was on a personal call the whole time. When a customer asked a question, he would not get off the phone but told the person to read the screen herself. The service was so unprofessional that I could bear thought of going here ever again.
