I took my mom here after she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. What a wonderful place in our community! The staff was so kind and friendly and patient. They had a large, high quality selection. It was fun to get out with my mom and have a "normal" day of shopping. We haven't had too many normal days lately. Highly recommend anyone looking for a little mood boost after a hard diagnosis. Thank you!

There is a lot of anxiety in needing a wig when you're having hair loss as I was with mine. For the woman in Idaho who wanted to sell a wig to a wig store, I feel sorry for her. I had bought a GREAT, brand new wig at an online retailer and it was horrible. I'm sending it back to the vendor I bought it from since they have a 30 day warranty. Carrie and Carlotta at the Essential Woman Boutique open the store Monday - Friday, but they went out of their way to open on Saturday for me, being a couple of hours away and wanting to bring my full time working sister with me. Carrie was so wonderful and thoughtful, so helpful through the process of finding a wig in exactly the color and style I wanted. She didn't rush me at all, and we had fun laughing and chatting about various things besides wigs. Gee, I wouldn't want to buy a used wig either, not when people will donate them back. If they bought wigs, they'd have to sell them and not be able to donate them. Think about that, please, without trashing them. Before I drove two hours to Spokane, I asked abouut prices of wigs. Carlotta said between $130 and up to $400 or so, so I knew what to expect. I found the PERFECT wig for $130, and even my older son who lives with us simply thought I got a haircut! THANK YOU, Carrie and Carlotta and ESSENTIAL WOMAN BOUIQUE! You made me feel like a beautiful woman again!

I bought 2 wigs online, tried them on with a wig cap and put them back in the box with tags still attached. I wanted them to go to someone who was dealing with illness, who couldn't afford the price of new, but would still get basically a brand new wig for a vastly reduced price. I called the Essential Woman to see about selling them to someone who needed one through them, or even donating them. The woman answered the phone first told me it was illegal to sell previously owned wigs in the State of Washington. This isn't true and I told her this. She then very rudely said, "Would you want to buy a used wig?" I told her that indeed I have as there are many gently used wig sites online that deal with "open box" or the same experience that I had, (try on with wig cap and put back in box.) She then slammed down the phone - BOOM. I think it's terribly unfortunate that this store proclaims to help people dealing with cancer but when faced with the opportunity to really help someone financially with something worthwhile, they turn it down; not to mention turning on the attitude "would you want to buy a used wig?" I think she must have been picturing an old ratty wig, not a quality piece that really could have been useful and beautiful for someone that needed it. I see they sell wigs for twice the price you can buy them at an online wig store and I realize it would cut into their bottom line. But a store that's suppose to help people and really mean "help" (and not just make $$) aren't really helping them at all if they don't even stay on the line to find out what the circumstances are, are they? Not to mention the "better than" attitude. My sister was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and I know where I'm going to suggest she NOT GO.

Set up an appointment for my mom who had just started chemo. The person we spoke to seemed hesitant to even set up the appointment for us to look at wigs then called back to cancel but would not provide a time that would be preferred (on a weekend) I had high expectations but was extremely disapointed by the whole situation.
