Do yourself a favor and don't bother with any other downtown hotels. I'm a repeat guest here and got upgraded to a fancy room on my birthday. Service is always amazing. Atmosphere is on point and the place is very clean. Enjoy your coffee in the atrium and walk to everything. Parking nearby. We will be back again and again.

I love the Montvale. I have stayed here several times and have always loved the service and the Gilded Unicorn. This last time was amazing, I had been diverted to Spokane, was on crutches with a broken foot, tired, and sore. Alejandro and McKenzie did a great job getting me into my room. And McKenzie helped me order food and get ice for my foot. The Montvale is a very special place staffed by people who care. Plus the rooms and hotel are eclectic, classic, and comfortable. And the Gilded Unicorn restaurant is a must!

Our regular stay in Spokane. Great location, wonderful hotel, lots of dining and strolling options nearby.

Bathtub drains slowly and there's a problem with the shower handle not letting you turn it off easily.Other than that, great stay.

We loved the 2nd floor living room atrium area with coffee and places to sit. Bathroom was roomy and well done. The AC kept the room cool enough that the standard issue on-or-off comforter wasn't too hot. The bed is our only real criticism. It's time for new mattresses. This one was well-used and felt like a hammock: saggy in the middle and high at either end.Safety: The location is convenient to certain things, but the area is a little sketchy. It's also not quiet. The trains are a 24 hour/day feature of the area. It didn't really bother me (because I like trains), but no one should say that the area is quiet. Far from it. And there's plenty of street noise as well. But overall, I liked the place.Food & drinks: Coffee was good.

I CANNOT rave about this hotel any more than I have since our stay. My husband and I flew down to see our two all time favorite bands at the knitting factory but the hotel could have easily been my favorite part (I mean the bands were great too ?). The staff were incredibly accommodating, letting us check in early so we could nap after catching a red eye flight, and also were able to get us a room facing the knitting factory so we could keep an eye on people lining up for the show. Our first impression was literally magic - the art, the vibe, and they had whimsical Harry Potter music playing which was chefs kiss. Really brought the moment to the next level. The room was BEAUTIFUL, renovated nicely, and dare I say THE most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. The fitness center was super convenient albeit very creepy to navigate to early in the morning haha. It was central to everything we needed during our stay - we walked to the best restaurants, loved seeing the old architecture, I was able to walk down to a great tattoo shop and get a commemorative tattoo and then 2 minutes later be walking back into the hotel to change and cross the street to catch the concert. We had such an incredible time staying at the Montvale. I cannot thank everyone there enough for the incredible experience and I'm lowkey praying good bands line up at the knit next year too so we can stay here again ?10/10 best hotel experience of my life. THANK YOU!!

It's absolutely gorgeous inside! It's got a nice warm inviting feel too it. I could admire the old hand carved cabinets they have all day, absolutely stunning!

Brian may be the nicest and most inviting front desk person we've ever come across. We were visiting for our anniversary and everything was great. Love the vintage style rooms and beautiful decor. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Brian and the Montvale staff for a great weekend.

Rooms are clean with good pillows and mattresses, but one of the shower dispensers was out of product. Front desk attendant was lovely, but the desk is not staffed after hours. Location is a bit sketchy, especially after dark. My only complaint is the coffee situation. There are no coffee makers in the room and the advertised 24 hr coffee bar had old, cold coffee in the pots at almost 4:30 a.m.

We stayed one night at the Montvale and had a great time! The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the hotel itself is beautiful. They offer parking in gated lots which is also nice. The 4pm check-in time can be a little annoying to work around when you are coming from out of town, but overall the experience was great and I would definitely consider staying here again :)

Spent a quick Friday overnighter here with the bff. She couldn't have selected a more perfect (though disappointingly not haunted) historic boutique hotel. Full of charm. Comfortable room. Friendly staff. Easy parking right behind the hotel for a reasonable nightly rate ($15?). And convenient walking distance to the best coffee next door (First Ave) and lots of restaurants and bars (we recommend Wooden City for dinner/drinks). I was concerned about reviews of paper-thin walls, but we hardly heard a peep. Maybe we lucked out with quiet neighbors (I know there was someone in the room next to ours because I heard their shower in the morning). It probably also helped being on the third floor without anyone above us. You could hear some street noise from there, but nothing that couldn't be easily ignored (I'm a light sleeper). I'd definitely book here again.
